What are you reading?
Not sure if we've done one of these recently.
In the last 3 weeks, I have managed to completely immerse myself in the world of Harry Potter. I held off for a really long time, because I just didn't get all the fuss. I am now 80% through Dealthy Hallows and have become, quite frankly, obsessed. JKR is pretty awesome. I can't wait to watch the movies.
I have no idea what I'm going to read next. I seem to be grativtating towards series lately, but I'm pretty up to date on all the recent stuff, since I'm still flat out refusing to read Twilight.
I am waitlisted for Gone Girl but I think I'm still close to #500 at the Philly Library and around #100 at the Montco Library.

I just finished book #4 of the Outlander series. I put #5 & #6 on my ipod so I can listen to them on the plane.
In the meantime, I'm reading French Kids Eat Everything. It has some great ideas about how to approach food, not only for children, but as an adult. I know that I can't prevent a picky eater but the book has some good suggestions about getting children to try a variety of foods. We do BLW so Jack eats almost everything we eat anyway so I'm hoping to continue this as he gets older.

I feel like I might need to reread the HP series. I started reading them in middle school and the last one came out just after I graduated from college. I was one of the crazies that would wait at the store at midnight to get my copy!
Like you, I really like reading series and I also refused to read Twilight. I was finally talked into reading it at the beginning of this year. I actually really liked the first book and has to issue formal apologies to every one of my friends I had looked down upon. They aren't hard reads and I'd recommend reading them. The movies do them no justice at all.
I just finished the first Outlander book, which broke my rule of not starting a series that hasn't been finished yet. But the girls on the nest book club board are pretty intense about that series and I couldn't resist. I really liked the first book and am looking forward to starting the next one after I finish reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for my book club. Another series I really liked was the Fever Series, the first book is Darkfever.
After reading the first book, I got the audiobook to lessen to in my car. It's great! I love learning how to pronounce things correctly and the narrator is wonderful with the accents. Enjoy!
I'm reading Water for Elephants. And by reading I mean I read about 3 sentences each night before my eyes shut.
Going on vacation tomorrow so I'll start reading Jennifer Weiners newest book. I've been saving it for over a month now.
My little nuggets
I am reading Favorite Wife. I forget who the author is, but it's a memoir about a women who escaped from a crazy life of polygamy. It's pretty interesting considering I know very little about Mormons. I am not one to gravitate toward non-fiction, so this was a change of pace for me.
I have never read any of the HP books.
I was not thrilled about reading Twilight (it was a book club pick) but I ended up really enjoying the series. It is super cheesy and not my genre AT ALL, but Stephenie Meyer is a good story-teller. I could appreciate that about it. The movies have all been so lame, yet I keep going to see them haha.

I just finsihed a Short Story by Jennifer Weiner called Swim, same main chacater as The Next Best Thing.

My neighbor lent me the book Bared to You to read, but have not started it.
I am very curious to hear the accents and how things will be pronounced!
I listened to the first Girl With the Dragon Tattoo book on CD but read the second one and I really would have butchered those names and places!

I just finished Sharp Objects and Gone Girl (same author). Loved them both!
Just started the first Outlander too.
I'm going on vacation next week so I picked up a few books from the library for my Kindle.
The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen. It had good reviews and seemed like a decent beach read.
The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff, historical fiction book about a polygamous family that sounded interesting and had decent reviews.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through Emily Giffin's newest, "Where We Belong". It's pretty good, but a big change of pace from her previous work. I want to read Jennifer Weiner's new one next.
I also have a bunch of books/tutorials on my Kindle about budgeting, etc. that I need to really get into...we are due bigtime to revamp our budget- well, honestly, actually make a legit budget- and I'm hoping some of these will spark ideas for me.
erin, I am listening to sharp objects....not loving it as much as gone girl or her other one dark places...dark places was excellent if you like her other 2.

I had a freebie called The One You Love by Paul Pilkington, it was an easy mystery read and free for the kindle if anyone is interested. Then I started and quit Dragon Tattoo yet again. Now halfway through Where We Belong by Emily Griffin, really like it so far, some it hits close to home so I can relate.
I think Bared to You by Sylvia Day is next on the list since my friend is lending it to me....unless anyone else has anything good and lendable on the kindle
