Anyone take Loestren-24?

I went to the OB today for my annual pap and to discuss birth control.  I had went in thinking I want Mirena, but was told that since we may have another baby in the next 2 years, Mirena isn't for me.  She suggested Loestren-24 and gave me 4 sample packs to get started.  Just wondering if anyone else was on this and did you like it?  I will get Mirena once we are done having kids.

Re: Anyone take Loestren-24?

  • I took it for awhile and it gave me yeast infections.  No other complaints, but with yeast infections the second week of every month, who needs other complaints :)
  • Yikes!  I hope it doesn't do that with me.  I've never had a yeast infection and I hope to stay that way!
  • The first pill that I went on was Loestren and I switched after about 4-5 months because of horrible side-effects, primarily nasty headaches that were pretty severe and really affected my ability to get through the day. After I switched, I felt much, much better!?
  • I'm going to give it a shot.  If it's too bad, we'll just go back to condoms.  It's been almost 4 years since I've been on the pill so I'm nervous.
  • I was on it for years and never had any problems. Everyone's body responds so differently to BCP, it really trial and error until you find one that works for you. GL!

Yeah, I had never had one before I started on that pill and I haven't had one since going off. It was really weird.  But I don't know if that was a common side effect of Loestren.  With four free samples, it's definitely worth trying it. I hope you like it!
