to see my Niece ( she should be going home tomorrow)
When I got there they had all the doors open on the maternity floor and a gaurd there. She asked if I was visiting and what room and the name.
She had a list, she checked it out and said "ok" have a nice visit.
My Sis Inlaws were there they said she wasnt there when they came. She wasnt there when I left.
My guess would be maybe it is a new procedure for anytime some one is in the process of being discharged that all visitors need to "check in"

Re: went to Magee today
My sis also told me that they kicked everyone out at 9 last night.
Maybe they are doing away with the all night visiting hours too!
Glad Felicia came before all this so I was able to go at 5am! = )
I have to wonder how that girl knew what baby would be a black boy and leaving on Thursday so she could get her details together- could be she was there scooping them out for a few nights??

This is what I've been wondering.
I was also thinking... now with Facebook... you can see everything your friends comment on. Even if they're not YOUR friends.
I was thinking maybe the mother posted a picture on Facebook and information about when they might be discharged. The abductor saw it and jumped on the opportunity.
Just a thought!
(I will most likely NOT be posting anything until I'm home from the hospital!)
Ditto! I said the same exact thing to DH the other night. And I question the report that said that the baby's tags were taken off (by staff) a half hour before they left. I remember, at least with #2, that I was wheeled from my room to the nurses' station, where all of the band were scanned/cut off us. Then we were wheeled downstairs - DS never left my arms once tags were taken off.
I also feel bad that the one lawyer interviewed was placing blame on the two staff members who questioned her (she didn't have ID on her) but didn't report it. That's a lot of guilt to place on someone who, I'm sure, already feels terrible and thought they were doing the right thing.
I guess it also proves to follow your gut!
My three sons!
I was just at Magee this morning and there was an armed guard standing outside the post partum floor. Interesting how it's different depending on the day/time!
