Tropical Storm Isaac
Greetings from Tampa, Florida! We have been watching Tropical Storm Isaac and today is the big day to see if it becomes Hurricane Isaac. We aren't looking a direct hit but we will be the path of the outer bands of the storm, unless it moves more west than they think. So far schools are closed on Monday and the Republican National Convention is postponed until Tuesday.
I got extra gallons of water and canned soups and veggies to eat in case we lose power. H and I will probably fill up our gas tanks today too just in case. We live in an apartment so we don't have to worry about sand bags or boarding up our windows. Whether it's a tropical storm or a category 1 hurricane, the amount of rainfall and gusts of wind can still cause a lot of problems. I'm not worried but I'm also not taking it lightly either.
I work at a doctor's office and will find out later today if we are going to open tomorrow. I hope not, I don't want to drive in pouring down rain and strong winds..scary!

My uncle lives in FL and is always trying to get us to move down. H says no way he doesn't want to be hurricaned.
Diana looks like it went west for you. And it didn't get weaker it's supposed to be a Category 2 when it hits. Looks like I get to go to the store now. Good thing is I live a little further north so by the time it hits us we will be past most of the big stuff. However if they evacuate New Orleans we are screwed they will all come here and one of the shelters is like a mile from my house. That alone will scare the crap out of you.

One of my coworkers is getting married in Costa Rica tomorrow! She was supposed to have a layover in Miami today. As of Friday the airline still hadn't cancelled her flight so she ended up just rebooking it herself, so now she's going through Dallas. I can't imagine having to deal with that right before my wedding!!
