I HATE teething

This past weekend has been terrible for all of us due to the little man's teething. I think he has three molars and some eye teeth all coming in at once. We experienced almost constant crying from Michael this weekend, and I got all of two hours of sleep the past two nights...this worse than when either of my kids were infants. Michael has had pain with all his teeth, but this has been terrible. I never knew Jackson was getting teeth, they just appeared, so this is all new to me...after these things come in, will there be a break from the constant fuss? I don't think there's enough ibuprofen in the world for my child to make him stop crying about his teeth :(

Re: I HATE teething

  • I'm sorry to hear that :(  it's so frustrating because you know that, beyond tylenol and some teethers (which Liam always rejects) there's nothing you can do to help them :(  Liam has been pretty bothered by his teeth, too.  we're up to 8 (5 of those came in during a 2 week time span!) and he's cutting his molars, too.

I've done this and cold, wet wash clothes.  DD is getting her canines (all 4) right now, so I feel your pain.

  • I feel like I've tried every frozen item on the planet, and all are rejected. I'm now thinking that Jackson's love of binkies was a godsend during teething, and why I didn't have any problems with him. Michael emphatically rejects anything that is put in his mouth that's not food or drink.

I have the opposite problem with dd.  She is putting EVERYTHING in her mouth.  Nothing is off limit including crayons and other people's fingers.  I guess chewing makes it feel better but I feel like I have a little baby in the house again.

I'm trying to think of what you could do for him.  Frozen peas?

  • I'm sorry.   :(

I remember giving Jude frozen mini-bagels to gnaw on.  Won't help you at night though.

  • This may not be a popular train of thought, but whiskey? (A rub on the gums for him, a shot for you?!)

    My three sons!

  • We're right there with you:( She's teething all four of her canines at the same time. We usually do tylenol and the hyland's teething tabs if she's really cranky.
