I've been looking a pictures of ombre hair coloring on pinterest. It is when the roots and top of hair are a darker color and fading into lighter through the bottom. I was born with naturally blonde hair but as I've grown older it has gotten darker and darker to almost brown. I dye my hair and then in a few weeks my darker roots start showing. I'd love to grow my hair out but I don't want to look two toned and it to be obvious that I'm growing it out. Is anyone familiar with ombre hair coloring? Is it something that a local salon can do?
Re: Ombre hair color
As popular as this this style is, I am sure any trendy salon you would go to have heard of this style. The way my stylist did mine, she does highlights underneath and with a layered haircut I get the ombre.
My favorite ombre color and cut combo is this:
Defintely a low maintenance look. I have been rocking the ombre color for three years now, and have been able to get by doing my hair every 6-9 months. A lot more pocketbook friendly than regular highlights. BTW, I think it looks good on short hair, too but I am biased, I did cut my hair to a long bob, when styled straight, you barely see the color variation, but when styled curly, you do see more of the lighter strands and it looks very sunbleached and care free.
I think most any salon should be able to do it. My stylist said she learned just by watching you-tube videos! She also said it's easy.
Personally I love the look, but I fear that it's trendy and will look dated soon. I've seen a few people who have bight color at the ends like blue or pink, super cute for the brave at heart.
