Tricare: Switching from Standard to Prime?
Hello everyone,
I currently have Standard but I want to switch over to Prime for obvious reasons. I was wondering how I do that. Do I just call Tricare and have them switch it for me or do I have to actually go somewhere to do some paperwork. I'm new to the whole thing so any help would be great!
Have a wonderful week!
Re: Tricare: Switching from Standard to Prime?
I will just go there on my day off and see what is going on. Hubby is on deployment so I may have to stay with Standard until he gets back. Thank you for your help.
I stayed with Standard because I wanted to see my own doctors too. But once I moved I figured I would just switch. Also, sometimes you don't have to go on base. If you live near a larger base there are usually smaller clinics around the area that you can go to once you go to prime. I would check into that before you keep going on and off base
You have to formerly enroll into TRICARE Prime. There is paperwork that you have to sign. http://www.tricare.mil/mybenefit/ProfileFilter.do;jsessionid=Q2QSWYn6hhrh1SXDBTvH01507JJCRz3vHgzZlQnG5QVSXr3qpzyv!1658213750?puri=%2Fhome%2Foverview%2FLearnAboutPlansAndCosts%2FTRICAREPrime
