Giggles and Smiles for a Birthday?
If anyone has opinions on this place I would really appreciate it. We have never been there and my DD is turning 5 and thought of Giggles and Smiles in Robinson for a party. If anyone has any experience, please let me know. Also, do I have to have a meal for her party? I was thinking of not getting one, but don't want to come off as cheap...
Side note: Do kids still have parties at their homes or is it mostly at a place? Seems like my DD friends all have parties at places (ie chuck e cheese, etc.). We have not had any parties at kids houses yet.
Re: Giggles and Smiles for a Birthday?
I can't comment on Giggles and Smiles. We had EJ's first friend party last year though, and since it was in the winter and our house wasn't big enough to have it there we went with a party at a location (Snapology in Bethel Park). It was nice because we didn't have to do much to prepare, and there was a clear start and end to the event. Plus I didn't have fuss with any of the activities or set up which was nice. I believe the party was form 10 - noon, and we only had cupcakes and drinks. Had we served a meal the kids wouldn't have had much time for playing and presents. I don't think you HAVE to have a meal depending on what time it is it is probably nice to order a pizza or something.
We also went to one house party this summer for a school friend. They got a bounce house for the kids to play in.
I have no feedback on this place, but if you want to have it at your house, bringing in some sort of entertainment (magician, bouncie house, clown) is nice because it's guaranteed entertainment.
Also, depending on the time you have it, lunch is not really a necessity. Just don't have the party from Noon-2p and not feed the masses even heavy apps (unless you specify in the invite that lunch is NOT provided). Know what I mean?
My three sons!
We went to G&S a few months ago and Adrian seemed to really enjoy it. He's still young for it, but they have a toddler area with a ball pit. The kids' playground equipment looked awesome! I wanted to try it!
The party room didn't look to be really big, but it was nicely private. There was a b-day going on when we went and I didn't feel like I was intruding at all. I actually didn't even see what was going on until we were leaving.
No clue on home vs. location parties. Hopefully we are a few years away from having to worry about that!

So great to hear from you- thank you for sharing your experiences and offering help! I agree with having it outside of the home makes life a TON easier. Not only that, but I have an idea that the parents would stay at our house too and I don't want to entertain both parents AND kids. Thanks again Ladies for your help!
