2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). Neither. My dad is a little too far on one side of the spectrum while my mom tends to opt out of politics all together.
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? Somewhat similar? Neither one of us is registered with the two major parties. We agree on some issues but butt heads on others.

1. What was the first national election that you were eligible to vote in? Clinton/Bush in 1992 - it was pretty exciting
2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). I have no idea, they NEVER talk about politics. I think they are registered Dems, but I could be wrong
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? Yes, he's definitely come over to my side much more since we've been together.
4. Have you ever volunteered in a political campaign? No

Very similar

In honor of the conventions a little poll to get things moving... Please note that I am intentionally keeping this candidate and party neutral.
1. What was the first national election that you were eligible to vote in? 2000
2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). I tend to agree w/my dad more. My mom doesn't vote.
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? Similar
4. Have you ever volunteered in a political campaign? no
5. Who is your favorite fictional president? no idea.
1. What was the first national election that you were eligible to vote in? 2000
2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). Neither. My parents are registered Independents but in reality, they are Republicans. My mom strongly disagrees with my beliefs and has even said that I subscribe to "that liberal hippy bullsh!t".
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? Yes. We feel strongly about different issues but our core beliefs are the same.
4. Have you ever volunteered in a political campaign? No
5. Who is your favorite fictional president? Bill Pullman from Independence Day. His speech before they go fight the aliens gives me chills every time.
1. What was the first national election that you were eligible to vote in? 2000
2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). Neither, I part ways with pretty much my entire family on political beliefs.
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? Similar on some issues, different on others.
4. Have you ever volunteered in a political campaign? Nope.
5. Who is your favorite fictional president? I don't think that I have one, but I love Julia Louis Dreyfus in VEEP! That show is hilarious.
In honor of the conventions a little poll to get things moving... Please note that I am intentionally keeping this candidate and party neutral.
1. What was the first national election that you were eligible to vote in? 2000 the Bush/Gore
2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). So very opposite of both my parents. My mom and step dad are hard line Repubs, my mom a bit more liberal on social issues. My dad worked for Senator Warner, the RNC, and was a speech writer for Regan when he was running for CA gov, so he is obviously a very hard line Repub. While I side on most issues with Dems, social, economic, etc (which is what influences my vote most), I do tend to side with conservatives when it comes to national security and defense spending, but I think that has more to do with my job.
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? We have very similar views. I think I've influenced DH more because I don't think he ever really thought in depth about it before the end of college.
4. Have you ever volunteered in a political campaign? no
5. Who is your favorite fictional president? Michael Douglas in the movie I can't remember the title of, where he is a single dad and dates a lobbyist named Sydney Wade.

Cooking with Crouton: A Food Blog
1. What was the first national election that you were eligible to vote in? 2004
2. Are your political beliefs more like your mom, dad, both parents (they have same or very similar beliefs) or neither parent (you disagree with both parents). I'm not quite as hardcore fiscally conservative like my parents, but I so socially liberal and different from them on social issues it isn't even funny.
3. Do you and your spouse have very similar, somewhat similar or very different political beliefs? DH isn't "into politics," but overall we have fairly similar beliefs.
4. Have you ever volunteered in a political campaign? No, and that's a big regret of mine.
5. Who is your favorite fictional president? Michael Douglas, in The American President, as Andrew Shepherd and Bull Pullman, Independence Day, as Thomas Whitmore are two of my all-time favorites.
