Cause I am bored! I have done so much this weekend already! I washed the car, gave Mr. S a bath, deep cleaned the entire apt, had people for for J's birthday, went grocery shopping, did a load of laundry, baked peach cobbler and lemon bars, and cleaned out my email.
Re: What are yall doing?
See you did a lot too! I agree, I have had a pile of mail to go through for 2 weeks. Finally did it yesterday.
I am looking at vacations now. Man, I wish I was rich. I did find a pretty good deal to LA. I was looking at what to do there.
I agree! Cruise! Our honeymoon was a carnival cruise out of LA. I want a vacation too. Jared and I are saving up for hopefully an Alaskan cruise next summer before he starts his new job so we don't have to use any of his vacation days. But the in-laws are wanting to do a cruise to mexico in January and his mom doesn't want to go without us. Nice, however, I barely am considering being able to save up for one vacation, let alone two.
What are you looking into in LA? Are you looking into "Living Social" and "Groupon"? Tons of getaway deals that look rather appealing
I found this new tool that I LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I always know when I can go on vacation, but I never know where I wanna go and when is the best time.
Kayak has a tool called "Explore" you just put in your departure and the month you wanna travel and it shows you prices all over the world. Thats what I have been playing on. Groupon and those scare me a little. I got one for B pics and ended up just loosing the money on it cause there were so many restrictions.
Ooo! Kayak helped me find the cheapest flights when I visited J in Seattle. I haven't quite used it for full on vacations yet though. Hmm, maybe I'll start using it
Where are you looking into?
I just wanna go somewhere that won't cost me an arm and a leg. But I feel like I have enough time.
I want to take J on vacation. IDK where. LA would be fun as we both have never been there, but I haven't heard awesome things about it either. Am lives there, so it would be nice to visit her. Any of you want visitors, let me know!
I want to go to GA to visit a friend.
J and I want to go to Paris or Amsterdam and then take a train to Paris
My mom wants to go somewhere with me. I think she would like a cruise.
I have to go back to MN for Christmas and then again in April.
I have time off in Nov for Thanksgiving that I wanna travel, but I hate how prices go up! and then time between Christmas-Jan 6. School starts Jan 7.
Chico, California
Up northern CA. And my pile is deteriorating decently haha. J and I are going to BB&B to get a "Plastic cube grid" (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=40126197&RN=1009&KSKU=203760&) and some cubes to go in to help organize some desk stuff, etc. Laundry hasn't happened yet haha. I think it's 1 1/2 loads, so not too bad. And tomorrow is a holiday. It will be done by the end of the day
I feel like if I post it here then I'll hold myself accountable since someone else knows what needs to get done. It shall get done.
LOL ya at least if someone else knows what I should be doing, I usually get it done.
I should be makin dinner.
IDK where Chico is! ahhh
ps. J is crabby and I am not a fan.
Welcome to my world! I don't know what I was thinking when I booked two cruises (ok, I do, but that's besides the point). Almost have the first one paid off. Still working on the second. Will be buying airfare to Thailand here shortly.
My parents bought them and Joy matching ones with a storage drawer for Christmas. I rarely use it. She makes a cup in the morning with it. Her current favorite is Butter Toffee from Gloria Jeans...
You might also want to try Yapta. That's what I use and it's powered by Kayak. Just remember though, not all airlines list their fares in those things. Southwest for example.
I do think she said something about not wanting to pay an arm and a leg. I wanted to do Disney for after our Bahamas cruise. 2 days at Disney cost more than 4 days on a cruise ship.
Oh gosh, that is my favorite too. Just bought a new box
But I add in some vanilla creamer too. Jared calls it my "candy coffee" since it's so sweet. Sooo good
I know! I keep looking at the prices. It's unbelievable. I want to go, but it's not worth the inflation. 100 bucks for a day for just getting into the park? I don't think so. I can pay 100 for a day on a cruise in which everything is included.
Haha my J was crabby all day today too. I kept reminding him that he was crabby. Then he decided to take a break from working (he is currently working from home) to go with me to Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up our new storage cubicles. Went in expecting to get the 20 dollar plastic one with two drawers...ended up going all out on a 3x3 wood one with customizable shelves. At least it looks nice and will last us a while. I'll see if I can get a picture up
But back to crabby J. I told him if he was "nice", I'd drive through and get him a milkshake. Luckily, every time I poked fun at him for being a snot, I got him to smile, so he ended up with a 12 pack of red bull as a treat. Now he has to be nice haha
Take a trip to Atlantic City, NJ. Stay at one of the very nice hotels, like Revel, and then I can meet up with you and show you around!
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
The biggest problem for us was the ticket prices. Tickets start at $89/day for Disney World and don't start to take a real dive until you've purchased 4 or more days. Tickets for 2 for 2 days would have been $352 plus and relevant taxes. Hotels anywhere near Disney aren't cheap either. It was going to cost us about $600-700 for 2 days and I hadn't even figured in eating yet.
I want to go on a vacation too. Sadly we are limited by DH's vacation time. And money. We are saving most of our money right now for baby. What's left is going into home renovations. Some we need, some could be put off, but at the same time it'll be nice to have them done. I hate having to be an adult like that sometimes. Our only vacation this year other than our honeymoon will be the trip at Christmas to visit SIL in Sacramento. We are going for a week and neither of us have ever been.
I was talking to DH the other day about taking a mini vacation. Just a weekend away somewhere. We both really want to go to an OSU game this fall. I suggested finding a local B&B to stay at so we don't have to drive home after the game. It's about an hour and half away so staying the night is reasonable. He said it sounded fun so maybe we'll do that.
We have some home repairs that need done too and I hate thinking about the large sums of money going out.
Yeah, same here. Whenever we spend elsewhere like our iPads back in February, there was that brief moment of guilt. We quickly got over it as we love our iPads. But it is holding up our vacation list. Plus my doctor bills us a portion of the delivery fee at each appointment so she'll be paid in full by the time we deliver. It'll be nice to have that paid off beforehand.
I'm just tired of how every home repair is always $1500+
