Shells galore, what to do?
On my recent beach vacation trip, my MIL and I collected lots and lots of shells. We want to do crafts with them, but are at a loss as what to make exactly.
Any ideas?
Re: Shells galore, what to do?
You can get a picture frame with a wide, flat frame and hot glue the shells on to decorate it. Then put a great pic in from vacation! You could also decorate simplistic candlesticks in the same fashion. I would think a pillar or even cube style would work best.
If any of your shells have little holes in them, you can take thin wire and wire small bunches into little mini bouquets and use them to decorate in flower arrangements.
You could also make a wreath. One way is they sell flat wooden wreath forms - you could hot glue shells on to cover the whole thing. This would also make it pretty heavy. You could also get a grapevine wreath and decorate with any combination of flowers, ribbons/bows and shells. Good Luck!
You could make jewelry out of some of them if there are any ones that would be good for that. I had a cute shell necklace that took up my whole chest I wore all through middle school (:
But I was thinking about the picture frames too and then read that someone had already suggested it. Great idea! And I like the lamp idea, or something similar to that. They could go in a vase or candle holder or anything like that!!
