Since it's slow, critique my Halloween party menu.

  • Alcoholic Ecto-Cooler
  • Veggies and dips
  • Black/Blue Corn Tortilla Chips (Bat Wings) with Fiesta Party Dip
  • Pepperoni Bread made to look like a snake
  • Cheesy Bone Breadsticks with Spicy Ranch Dipping Sauce

  • Some type of cupcakes/cookies
Any other side or veggie you can think of?

Re: Halloween Party Menu

  • Sounds good and creative...there's kind of 4 things that are very bread-y...I don't think you need to get rid of any of those, but if you add anything, stay away from that starchy component. But I don't think you need to add anything
  • I saw something on pinterest that was a skeleton made out of veggies...let me see if I can find that to help you out on the veggie side!

You could then surround the skeleton with additional cut-up veggies so you don't run out.

That's really cute! Thanks for posting that!

I think I might also add sloppy joes to the menu since I just decided I'm going to be the lunch lady.

  • Oh, and another idea for a lighter dish! (Seriously, I'm the queen of fall foods.)

I like to make a pumpkin hummus by mixing store-bought hummus and canned pumpkin together, and then adding some spices to it (nutmeg, ground cloves, etc.) Then I buy a small- to medium-sized pumpkin and hollow it out, and then use the pumpkin as a bowl to serve the hummus. You can really use it for any type of dip, but I like using it with something pumpkin-flavored. Serve with pita chips or wheat thins.

Yeah, very true. DH doesn't have a costume yet so maybe I can talk him into being a hoagie.
