Judge me

My "first kiss" (from 1st grade!) just friended me on on facebook.

No bigs. We grew up in the same town but had completely different circles of friends as we got older. He went to alternative high school. He was always a nice guy, just a little off...

So anyway, he friends me and starts a conversation. No big deal, but here's where the conversation takes a weird turn...

He lives in the same town as I do, so I ask him, "Where do you work?"

He gives me this schpeal about what he does (I still don't understand) and he's like "I make 21 bucks an hour!"

ummm...okay. Cool.

He then goes on about how he owns his own house and "It's TOTALLY awesome."

So I ask him where he lives...to make conversation.

He tells me (not the best part of town to be honest) and asks about where I live. I give him the general area, it's a nice area.

he replies: "But do you own it?"

Uhhh...yeah.

It's just a totally awkward conversation to me. I'm fine about talking about money with my friends, but I literally have not talked to this guy in like 15 years. It just seems like a weird conversation. Like he's trying to show me up.

Now he wants to hang out and have our families meet. I'm not going to be able to shake this guy, I know it.
