Congrats!! Let's see her!!
My little Hadley is here!
Birth Story- Friday, the 24th around 11:00 pm, I had just laid down to go to bed. As soon as I got comfortable, I felt this thud in my pelvis. I told my DH that "something just happened in there". Right after that, I had three strong contractions in my back that took my breath away. I sat up and told DH I thought I was in labor. I felt a little wetness and decided to go check it out. As soon as I got to the toilet, there was a huge gush. Then another. And another...etc. After many attempts, I decided just to stay on the toilet and yell out to DH what to pack. Apparently, I had a lot of amniotic fluid. We finally got out the door around midnight to head to the hospital.
Once we got to the hospital, I got settled in my room and they checked me. I was 2 cm and 70% effaced at around 12:30 am. The contractions become more regular about an hour later and I only had back labor the entire time. They gave me some IV pain and nausea meds. Those pretty much knocked me out. At one point I woke up and they had oxygen on me. I guess the baby wasn't getting enough oxygen from what my mom told me. They wanted to start the pitocin, but knew I wasn't handling the pain well, so they ordered my epi a little early. By 5:00 am the epi was in, the loopy meds had worn off, and all was well in the world. I was 5 cm then. I did have a window where I could feel everything on my left lower back and hip area. They got it fixed at one point, but by time I started pushing I could feel everything again. Things progressed steadily. I was 8 cm at 9:00 am and complete by 10:15 am.
Pushing was really easy for me. Thank goodness! My nurse was very proud of how productive all of my pushes were. I pushed for 45 minutes and welcomed Hadley Grace into the world at 11:04 am. Almost exactly 12 hours from when my water broke. She was 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long.
**Poop part for Puppy**- DH claims that I pooped during labor at the very beginning. He was at the head of the bed. My sister and best friend sat at the end of the bed and watched me in all my glory. They said they never saw it. I think DH is making it up.
She's a great baby. Breastfeeding has been a challenge, but I think we are getting the hang of it. Here's a bad cell phone picture taken from sidelines while JLimberg did her newborn pictures today.
I just saw JLim's photo on FB this morning and thought, "What a cute baby!" So glad she's yours.
Congratulations!

She is beautiful! Congratulations!
P.S. I am pretty sure I pooped when I was in labor with DS just a few minutes before he was born (I had a crazy short labor & delivery - 20 minutes from when we walked into the hospital to when he was born), but I have never asked H and I don't think he would ever tell me if he saw it.
