Re: (Untitled)
So I'm going to go against the grain here and say NOOOO to Jamaica. My husband and I just got back from Jamaica and had a TERRIBLE time. We went to Mexico for our HM and absolutely loved it.
1. Jamaicans are OBNOXIOUS people. They do not take no for an answer, whereas the Mexicans did.
2. We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid in MoBay, and the food was terrible. This was supposed to be "the" resort in MoBay. It was bad.
3. Sand fleas. And they said they are year round. Enough said.
4. The Jamicans are extremely dishonest people. You have no idea how many times we caught them exchanging the currency wrong and telling us wrong prices on things. Ugh.
5. Our resort watered down the alcohol. Super annoying. They did not do this at our resort in Mexico.
6. Jamaicans are terrible for service. We verified this with many friends who have been there. It took about 15 minutes to get a drink and about an hour to get our food. Friends who have stayed at other areas and resorts in Jamaica also agreed with this.
7. We did not feel safe in Jamaica, at all. We left our resort once and NEVER again. It was like being locked up for a week. Awful. In Mexico, we left our resort every day and walked around PDC and never once felt unsafe.
That being said, we will NEVER EVER EVER return to Jamaica and will defintely be going back to Mexico next. We stayed at The Royal Playa Del Carmen for our HM and absolutely loved it. The food was wonderful, drinks were plentiful. We paid about $1300 each and that included airfare.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
