fear of unknown

so, i've been in the Air Force for just about 5 years, on the enlisted side. before i came in i had surgery on my ankle when i was 19, i tore a ligament and now, i'm on my THIRD FREAKIN SURGERY, i hate this, anyway, i've been on a profile for well over a year for the problem, the 2nd surgery was another reconstruction because the ligament snapped again while deployed and a bovine graft was put in, now this time i had the nerve removed out of the joint and foot because of scar tissue  complications. i'm pretty scared about being medically retired or discharged even though it's beyond my control. it sucks. yea i have a plan set up and everything, but we all know plans get pushed aside and whatnot. i know i won't be discharged as long as i'm under treatment, but this is literally the last hope i have for this ankle, i'm screwed otherwise...has anyone gone through something similar? anyone who was military and not just know how, no offense to those who have not been in.
