Yesterday I went to BBB in search of a toilet paper stand and the darnest thing happened..... A duvet set, squeeze bottle, pants hangers and 4 place setting of my china jumped, JUMPED I tell you, into my cart.
Got 4 5 piece place settings for a grand total of $55. I have not used our china since the year of the Dog but that is neither here nor there. I have to find my china and see just how many place settings I have already. How may place setting do you have?
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
Re: Let's talk china
we got 2 sets at our shower.
16 settings and all to go with it of "white" china
12 place settings and all to go with it of "BLACK" china (thank you DH!)
we use the black Noritake set as our everyday set now, started when we moved into our house before that had more everyday dishes
I think for our wedding we received 4 place settings. Once we were in our home I wanted to figure out how to complete the set, maybe buying a set each holiday or something. I found out that (through Macy's and Wedgewood ) that the pattern was being discontinued. So I scoured Macy's in NY and NJ to complete the set. I ended up getting the remaining pieces for a steal.
I think one teacup and one small dish is broken from my set of 12. I've got a website saved or a company you can order replacement pieces from, just never got around to ordering them.
We've been in our house almost 6 years and I think we have only used the china a handful of holidays. It is however displayed nicely in my dinning room, in the china cabinet
We have a 12 or 16 piece set. It was my grandmothers and she gave it to me along with her china cabinet when I got married. The nice thing is her China is dishwasher safe so I don't mind using it for nice dinners and the such, especially holidays.
Right now I have it nicely displayed in our dining room.
I didn't register for "nice" china because (a) we would never use it and (b) my mom has at least three different patterns I could use if I needed to. (I also didn't register for silver because she had three patterns...but then she was robbed and now there is nothing!)
We registered for Noritake Colorwave...the blue one. I think I did 12 place settings but we only have like 6 I think...I only got 2 for my shower and then on our mini moon there was a Noritake outlet and I bought more
We never registered for China, my mom has 2 sets and I will get one. I did register for everyday dishes--fiestaware. I think I did 8 place settings, since then everytime new colors come out I always have to buy them.
Very similar here... I never registered for china... have no interest in it. We have a 12 fiestaware everyday. When B's gparents were moving out of their home into the assisted living place they had to get rid of a majority of their stuff and his gma has a shiit ton of different sets of china... I guess when B was younger he was obsessed with this very gaudy gold one so she said and everyone knew that it would go to him.. yeah that was until I saw it... sooo we compromised and took another set that wasn't quite so gaudy which I think is like 12 places. Its just been sitting in the cabinet.
This is the black china my DH registered for!!! LOL We do have 4 flowered plates. Also 4 black plates with snowflakes for wintertime from this set.
