We Will Never Forget

I just wanted to take a second this morning to honor and remember all those who were involved with 9/11. To our fallen heros, we will never forget the sacrifice you made 11 years ago (and continue to make because of that day) so that we may continue to live in the land of the free. To all those families who lost a love oned, we are praying for you every day. We will never forget

Re: We Will Never Forget

  • Thank you for posting this! Let's all take a second today to thank them for this amazing sacrifice on such a tragic day. Hard to believe it's been 11 years seems like it was just a few years ago.

I was in class at the time and the room we were in had no tv so we knew nothing about it while the whole school was watching. I went to my next class and seeing so many students checking out of school because their parents were military. I got to my next class only to see it all unfold. I will never forget that day!

  • I can't believe it's been 11 years.

I remember in elementary school having to ask my grandparents for a school project where they were when they heard about Pearl Harbor. I was thinking about it this morning and how one day our grandkids will ask us where we were on September 11th. I was in my 11th grade history class. I still remember what a strange day it was at school and how uncertain, at least I felt about my future and the future of my country.

  • I was in 8th grade American History class.  My teacher apparently was talking about how strong our government and leaders were (I was never paying attention but that's what my friend said we were talking about).  The office secretary popped her head in, pulled my teacher aside, and when he came back, he just said "Our lives are changed forever." He finished class, THEN told us about it.  The rest of the day the whole school gathered in the chapel (I went to Christian school) and we just prayed and watched the news.

A day we will all remember.  T&P for families of heroes and victims today and forever.

      Anniversary
  • It doesn't feel like it was 11 years ago.

I was a freshman in high school. Being in CT and so close to NYC, we got sent home from school early.

My brother and I watched the news the rest of the day. That night you could actually see the smoke from the towers in some parts of the state. Definitely a day I'll never forget.

  • So many people sacrificed so much on that day. Every single person was a hero. And every person after that day who has sacrificed their lives to keep our country safe.

Sara, please thank your husband for his service to our great country.

I remember exactly where I was, what I was doing on that day. It's crazy how you remember something that affects your life like that. I was working in Downtown Boston for a large department store. I was on the 5th floor in the "women's world" department dressing a mannequin when my manager was radioed that something happened at the towers. At first, we had no idea, like everyone else, the magnitude of the events that were unfolding before our very eyes. We decided to go to the breakroom and see the news. We were horrified and everyone was so stunned. The room was dead silent. I will never forget when I watched that 2nd plane hit and when the first tower fell.

The store closed for the day shortly thereafter, and there was such chaos. I lived in NH at the time, so getting home on the train was bit of a nightmare. My eldest brother lived in Brooklyn and was supposed to go to the towers that day. We were all worried, and phone lines were jammed. It was scary.

I will never forget that day, and I think I have some newspapers in storage. One day, our kids will ask us about it when they learn about it.

  • As most of you know... i'm Canadian... I was in grade 9 at the time.. and with the time difference, was just getting ready for school. Every morning when I got ready for school I watched re-runs of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I turned the TV on and was mad because the news was on instead. I remember saying to my brother "Hey come look at this... a plane just hit some building in the States" he asked what and where and i was like "I dunno..in New York....the World Trade Centres or something". He's 3 years older than me and came into the room and then I more understood the magnitude of what was happening... especially as I watched the news.

We had tv's in all the classrooms in our school.. they ran televised school announcements and they all had cable.. well... we watched the news pretty much all day in school and had a lot of conversations in all of our classes about what this meant. We watched the second plane hit, we watched the tower's fall...

As a Canadian, and only being 13 I definitely didn't fully understand right away the impact that this would have on me, on my life and on my country... however as time went on, and it really didn't take that long to figure out.. that this changed our whole continent forever...

My  thoughts do go out to all those directly affected... and those who continue to be affected by loss, and illness, and the wars...

  • I was driving to school in Nassau county, NY. I remember hearing it on the radio after the 1st plane then the 2nd I couldn't believe it.  None of my classes were cancelled why I don't know.  I remember that night hearing helo's fly over thinking they were taking survivors to the local hospital to later find out it was military protecting us.

  • I was a freshman in High School... it feels like a million years ago, yet it feels like just yesterday. I remember every single detail from that day. H and I are always glued to the TV watching all of the 9/11 documentaries, all of which make me sob like it was literally yesterday.

     I will never forget.
