Christmas Card Choices

Ok, this will be the first Christmas my husband and I are together (our second Christmas as a married couple, but last year I was finishing college and he was still in the military so we were in different states). So...I am making Christmas cards this time around. Hoping to make it a tradition. Anyway, I was hoping to get some input on paper choices based on preference and/or experience.

I am planning a 6x6 card, the front will be dark blue with a powder blue horizontal stripe and silver rectangle centered above the stripe saying "Merry Christmas" (Or seasons greeting? Not sure). So I am wondering would it be best to use dark blue paper as a base and then use silver to write on the inside or to use the powder blue as the card and stick a dark blue square onto the front? Opinions?

Also- should we send a photo with the cards? I was thinking maybe photos for immediate family only?

Re: Christmas Card Choices

  • Send a photo.  I'm always a bit sad when the card doesn't have a photo.  It doesn't have to be a big pic - wallet sized ones are pretty dang cheap at walmart.com.  $0.20 or less I think, and that might be for a sheet of 2.
  • I think a picture would be a great idea. The picture in my signature is the picture we sent out last year. You could put "Happy Holidays from The...." and the year!! Last year was our first Christmas as a married couple. I'm planning on doing the picture cards every year.

  • I would send a photo with it! My DH and I have decided to make it a tradition to send out a Christmas card each year with our picture on the front, this will be our 3rd card this year. The 1st year it was just me, DH, and dog, 2nd year was me, DH, dog and cat, this year we will have our newest cat as well (it's going to be very interesting considering we set the camera for 10-sec delay and do it ourselves). I see it as an update for our family and friends who do not see us often, and one day when we add human babies to our family it will make it even more exciting Smile
