Another board that I am is talking about one lady's 3rd grader who was pulled into the principal's office because she witnessed a 4th & 5th grader on the bus yesterday having oral s-e-x. She's 8. This is also local. I am completely gob-smacked. Another lady chimed in that her daughter who just started 6th grade and tried to hang out with some male friends from elementary school was sexually harassed by them. Talk about confusing. Do I live under a rock, too old, or did I block these memories? I don't remember things being THIS bad when I was their age.

Um, I didn't kiss a boy until I was a freshman in high school! Ugh this is the worst.
I think they are too immature to handle it but they know about it and are acting on their raging hormones.
So needless to say, your OP does not shock me at all. It scares me but it's def happening.
How they are raised has so much to do with it. The lady who I was talking about above teaches in a not so good area of the city. She said when she called the parents, they didn't even seem to really care all that much about his actions. She said that they were more mad at her and the school for him being suspended, than anything.
I'm pretty confident my 10 y/o son has no idea what a BJ is and I'm going to even go as far as to say that he doesn't even know what secksy time is yet. Hell, he still believes in freaking Santa Clause!
Same here ! although I think this is definitely the last year, I bet he probably already knows but is playing along for my sake. If not, I guess we should probably tell him but that's another post topic

This is completely insane! I agree with pps that I think it has a little to do with how the kids are being raised and what they are allowed to be exposed to at home. Case in point- DH tells me about movies and TV shows he was allowed to watch as a child (Friday the 13th, etc.). My parents were very strict with what we were allowed to watch and in fact, we didn't have cable until I was around 11 and it was basic cable. Thankfully, he doesn't agree with what his parents/older siblings let him watch at a young age. Sometimes it's the other kids whose parents are more lenient that influence those whose parents are more strict. I think there are a lot of more lenient parents out there today.
