So excited! We're starting to look at a house to buy. In fact, this Saturday we're meeting with our relator and going to go look at some houses. She asked me to send her a list of houses we wanted to see. What's a reasonable amount of houses to look at in an afternoon? 3 or 4 or 5? Am I too far off? We've been doing drive bys of houses for sale, and if they meet our criteria for price, garage space, and yard space, we want to see the inside...so we have quite the list of homes we would like to see. I'm EXCITED!
We'll end up renting out the house we have now. It'll be the perfect rental for a single person or a young couple just starting out (no kids in the future). It'd be a good rental for an older couple except for the yard. We're on a 1/2 acre.
Re: House-hunting!
The most we ever looked at in a day was six. We definitely got to a point, though, where we could walk in the front door and immediately know it wasn't for us. We would still take a quick spin through the house "just in case," but there were a few walk-throughs that were super fast.
Is your realtor sending you the MLS listing e-mails? That will also help bulk up your list of homes to see!
Good luck! It's so exciting! We went to check out our #1 house with our parents on the day we wanted to put an offer in. The same day, another house (#2) we were interested in popped back on the market. We toured house #1 then headed over to house #2. We ended up putting in an offer and getting house #2 after we basically had our minds made up on #1. You just never know where you'll end up!!

Hey Ky - just wondering, which part of Greenwood do you live in? Do you live in a subdivision? We've been looking at Carefree, Pebble Hill, Valle Vista, Featherstone, Whispering Trails, and Windsong. There's a short-sale I like in the subdivision called Brentwood.

We live in a neighborhood (but it's an older neighborhood - no HOAs!) It's mostly ranch style homes. There are two entrances, one is off of Madison, just south of Fry. The other is off of Old Meridian (halfway between Main & County Line). Out of the one's you listed, I've heard of some of them, but I do know where Valle Vista is. Sam thought that if/when we'd move, he would like to find something in there. There's one home for sale in our neighborhood - but it would probably need some fixing up. Which is what we've been doing to ours!

Exciting! I did reallly like Valle Vista Subdivision. John really likes the older homes. His main requirement is storage. He would love to have a 3 car garage and being able to have a mini-barn.

Ha, that sounds like Sam. I forgot that his other thought is moving out in the country, with plenty of land for a mini-barn. Boys
