I have been back to work now for 4 months from a year off on maternity leave.
I work for 2 departments within my office as the receptionist and also do administrative duties.
Just the other day I found out that they have hired on a secondary administrative assistant for one of the departments I work for and she is now taking over half my duties. I wasn't told about this prior, I had to find out when this new employee came over and asked for some papers and folders of information I generally work on.
I also was supposed to have my yearly review back in August, and I requested to have a meeting, so that we could sit down and set some goals for the up coming year and my return. However, come the end of August I was told "We are going to hold off on doing your review for now."
I feel in the short time I've been back I've proven my strong work ethic still stands, I don't miss a lot of work/make sure my appointments work around my work schedule. I finish all the tasks presented to me in a timely manner and have had zero issues or problems with anything I work on.
I guess I am just wondering if I should be at all concerned about the secrecy of this new hire and the fact that they are postponing my review.
Re: Should this be cause for concern?
I agree with all of this, good luck!
