Friday Say Anything

What's on your mind today?

Re: Friday Say Anything

    • My coworkers are driving me crazy. They switched our work email from Outlook to gmail about a month ago and my coworkers are still having problems adjusting to it. It's not rocket science - it's email for crying out loud! They're too lazy to call IT so I just get to listen to them b*tch and moan all day. I've tried to help my one coworker but something is crazy with her screen and she needs to call a professional and get it fixed.
    • My FIL finished our fireplace yesterday and I love it. I can't wait until our carpet is done Thursday and the furniture comes Saturday.
  • I have to go to a training seminar in DC next month. its all day long. of course its downtown, in a federal building with heavy security so my only thought is, great, where am I supposed to go pump?

The pics your posted when it was half done were beautiful! I can't wait to see the finished ones!

    Mine:

The class I am taking this Fall is very open ended. there are no discussion questions we have to answer, so quizzes, just a research paper and a final. I need some damn direction!!

What building?  since all of them have to have pumping rooms,  you should be able to contact someone there about getting it, right?

  • The majority of the time I love my job, I love what I do and I have a sense of fullfillment, and I really like the specific agency I work for.  But the commute is slowly wearing me down.  I despise riding the metro, but between getting some $ from the gov't every month through the PTIP and parking being ridiculously expensive, the train is my only option.  I am looking forward to the 12 week break from the commute coming up.

  • I totally understand having gripes about your job, nothing is perfect, but I cannot stand when people truly hate their job and don't do anything about it in terms of trying to find a new one. Namely, my husband and a friend/coworker of mine. My husband truly needs a new job, he's underpaid, his back pain is getting worse because of the amount of time he spends in the car, and they take him for granted. Does he apply for new jobs? No, all he does is complain. My coworker, who does account collection (a terrible job, for sure), constantly complains that she's not cut out for this job, she says she's undervalued, doesn't get paid enough, and is so anxious on Sunday nights about Monday that she doens't sleep. OH MY LORD - FIND ANOTHER JOB! I get hating your job, but stop stop stop complaining so much if your'e not going to take the steps to make your life better.

duude not commuting is the best part of vacation.

I'm actually Ok w/ the actual Metro time/experience, but holyshit, driving to and from Greenbelt every day on 95 is the worst part of my day - hands down.

I was actually tinking today that after DD goes to school FT (when we won't need 1K a month for daycare), I want to get a job closer to home just to get out of the fuckingcommute.

Here it is! Unfortunately the darn ceiling is really low above it so we don't have much mantel space.

  • Oh and also, I found a true comparable to our house last night that just went on the market.  It's almost the exact same as our house, but our house is a bit more updated, more functional updates, and a bit more finished space.  BUT, it is listed at 50k less than what we paid for our house originally, not even considering the thousands we have put into the updates, just what we paid.  It crushed us last night, we were both in horrible moods and we feel totally hopeless that we will be able to get out of our house in the next 5 years.

  • I've put on a couple of pounds and I'm not happy about.  It's not really noticeable, but I have noticed that my clothes fit me differently and it seems to all have settled in my thighs. Trust me, it's not muscle mass either!  I can't say a word about it to any of my friends because they'll all be like, "you're so tiny and you run all the time!"

    Darn this getting older thing!

  • Cooper, its at the FCC building. I feel funny asking so I will probably end up running out at lunch to sit in my car in a dark parking garage to pump with my trusty battery pack :/ I totally feel you about the house thing. One down the street from me has been for sale forever-its an end unit like ours-and they just lowered it another 20K. OMG.

I have a vent. Dear Co-Irkers, can you actually take a f*cking moment to peruse the papers you pull off the printer before taking them back to your desk? Not everything that comes out of the printer belongs to you. And then you are too lazy to walk it back to the printer so you end up chucking it. And I have to print out another copy. F*ckers. Ah, that felt good to get out.

Ugh, I'm with you on this :( I almost feel like all the updates we've done (or are planning to do) to our house are worthless because we could have the best house in the neighborhood and it will still sell for less than what we paid. I am hoping that we will be able to sell for at least more than we owe and it's sad that that's the best we can hope for.

I have a car adapter for my PIS if you need it that day. The couple times I had to use my battery pack, I felt like the suction wasn't that strong.

  • The fireplace looks great, Gracie.

I also hate my commute (Catonsville to Upper Marlboro). No commute was one of the major perks of ML. Starting next week, I will be allowed to telecommute one day. I am SO FREAKING EXCITED.

Remy, I'd take a car adapter. I didn't get as much suction with my battery pack, either and it died on me once because it didn't have completely fresh batteries.

I don't have anything to say, or rather, I have too much and I don't feel like writing a novel Smile

  • Someone please tell Caroline to slow down!

In the past two weeks or so has accomplished so much. For rolling back to belly, to scooting aka trying to crawl, to eat baby food, to sleeping better. Before I know it she will be one not my little baby anymore. Crying

  • I am not looking forward to going to Canton a few days per week for the next few weeks. I don't mind teaching the training class but I don't want to make the drive. Traffic makes me anxious and angry at all the a**hole drivers. I don't like all that stress.

I hate making the schedule at work and then people coming to me afterwards and saying "Oh BTW, I need off at 4:00 on 9/18/12. I told (manager) about it." Well gee, (manager) didn't tell me. Let me just go ahead and rearrange the WHOLE DAMN THING." Annoys me.

Can you tell I am PMSing? LOL

  • I feel like I'm stuck on an emotional roller coaster and I desperately want to get off.

I'm dealing with post-partum hormones, which probably wouldn't be so bad if they weren't being exacerbated by so many other issues, namely: my grandmother passed away on 9/11, my grandfather has been in the hospital since 9/10, I visited him on 9/11 and left thinking I'd honestly never see him again, he's having emergency surgery today, my mother's been terribly sick and has called me multiple times in tears, my recovery has been rough and is stressing me out, and, and, and...

I feel weighed down, exhausted, and just sad. I feel helpless because I'm 45 minutes away from my mother and can't drive, so there's little I can do to be there for her. I'm terrified that we're going to have two funerals back to back and I don't know what that will do to my Mom and the rest of our family. Everyone is already grieving - I don't know how much more we can withstand.

I am so, so sorry Dani. Plese try to take it easy on yourself though, your mom knows that you would be there in a second if you could. Your grandfather is in very good hands at that hospital. You guys are in my prayers.

  • Hugs to you Dani!! I know the feeling as my grandmother passed away shortly after I gave birth to B. I felt guilty that I wasn't there as much as I could be with the rest of the family at hospice and in the immediate aftermath when we all needed each other for comfort. That is way too much going on for you guys right now but I am sure your family understands that you aren't able to get out and about much right now. I hope your recovery is going better, please rest, take care of yourself, and snuggle your little guy.
