Boston or Pittsburg Nesties - Sports Related

How do you go about getting decent priced tickets for the RedSox or the Steelers?  I've looked online before and prices are outrageous!  I'd love to suprise my husband with tickets to one or the other!

Re: Boston or Pittsburg Nesties - Sports Related

  • I routinely use stubhub.  I find that if we're able to wait until the last minute (night before the event), we can usually find tickets for good prices.  I think that people lower their prices in order to not get stuck with the seats.

If you wait until the last minute and there is not time to mail the tickets or they are not the instant tickets that you can print, there are stubhub offices in each city that you can pick up the tickets from on the way to your event.  We have done this numerous times without any issues.

I will also add that we did get tickets that were different than they were listed once.  We were sent row 12 tickets when the seller listed them as row 1.  However, stubhub's customer service was beyond awesome.  They ended up providing us with actual row 1 seats in a better section and they paid the difference in price which was about $150 for the pair.  We did buy these a couple of months in advance and had plenty of time to sort it out.  I suppose if this would have happened one of the times that we waited until the last minute, it would have been a big disappointment.

  • The Steelers have been sold out for the past generation and there is about a 30 year waiting list for season tickets.  That said, you can always find tickets on StubHub and there are always scalpers at Heinz Field.   The actual face value of a ticket is not cheap however - you are looking at close to $100 for bleacher seats.

If you are flexible, you can wait to see how the Steelers are doing later in the season - if they aren't going to make the playoffs, you'll find tons of tickets for sale at better prices for the December games.

    Good Luck!!

  • Since the sox suck this year, there were tickets available at the gate for Wednesday's Red Sox Yankees game on Wednesday.
