Aruba resort good for kids?

We are looking into Aruba next year with our kids...which resorts would you recommend

Re: Aruba resort good for kids?

  • You really can't go wrong with any of the high rise hotels - Marriott, Radison, Hyatt.  My favorite is the Hyatt since it's centrally located and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The Radisson is also very nice and next door to the Hyatt.  Stayed at the Marriott once and although very nice, I didn't feel the location was the best.

We don't have kids yet, but in each of these resorts there have been plenty of kids while we were there.  Only place I do NOT recommend is the Divi.

I LOVE Aruba!! Taking this year off with the baby coming :-)

  • I love Aruba!  I was actually thinking the Divi Tamirjn or whatever is called would be a good place to go with kids. It is a low rise hotel on Eagle Beach.  Eagle Beach is gorgeous.
  • If you are looking for All Inclusives I'd recommend Occidental or Riu.  For non-AI, I'd recommend the Radisson, Hyatt, or Marriott.  I don't usually do AI when going to Aruba because they have so many great restaurants on the island but then again I don't have kids.  With children, an AI may be the most economical way to go and maybe do one or two nice dinners out away from the resort to get a taste of the local cuisine.

  • We stayed at the Marriot Surf Club in April and already have our request in for the Marriott again in January with our ten year old son. The lazy river just cant be beat. There were a lot of kids there and it was pretty noisy.

Thre are 3 different pool sections and there is a beachy type area for smaller kids at one of them with a big slide. There are tons of kids activities everyday and the staff there was wonderful.

On day 3 of our vacation my son cut his leg open (there were piles of sand to correct errosion and he cut it on a sharp shell) and their on-staff medical team was amazing. They fixed him right up, called everyday to check on him and changed his bandages everyday as well.

I wasnt thrilled with the happy hour at the bar so we go down to LaCabana (where we used to stay until BlueGreen took over) to visit their bar for happy hour and live music every night.

We rent a car every year so being out of the way wasnt really an issue for us. There are buses and taxis avalilble all the time if you arent renting a car.
