Re: Favorite Crockpot Reciepes?

  • I am not a fan of chicken in the crockpot, I know I am in the minority though. It always taste rubbery to me.

I make roast with veggies, stuffed peppers, pork and sauerkraut, pulled pork (but my reciped is a 2 day thing), french dip sandwiches, pretty much anything I cook in my dutch oven. My husband is not a fan of condensed soups as sauce so that limits what I make.

  • Crockpot Lemon Chicken - Put cube of butter in bottom of crock pot. Lay chicken in pot. Sprinkle Italian dressing packet over chicken, drizzle with lemon juice, pop the lid on. Cook on High 4-5 hours, or Low 6-8 hours.

I made this for the first time a couple of weeks ago.  We loved it!  It was delicious!  I used a decent bit of lemon juice because I wasn't going to be home and I have a fear of the crock pot catching on fire...lol.  I found it on Pinterest.

Add me to team no chicken in my crock pot.

I only use mine for chuck roasts, pork roasts/kraut and apples. Pulled pork.  I will cook my chili in the crock pot too. But that only cooks a few hours after I brown the meat. So not really a leave all day while you are at work kind of thing.

  • Yeah, I usually sear my meat before cooking it in the crockpot. For Christmas last year, I got the Cadillac of crockpots(All-Clad Deluxe Slow Cooker w/an aluminum insert) and the insert can be used on the stove. It is a totally ridiculous but I love it!

Plus, my husband is not a fan of me leaving something plugged in all day while we are at work attended.

  • eye of round roast (or whatever meat you have) + 1 can beef broth + one packet italian seasoning + one packet au jus mix.  cook for 10 hours, shred, make sandwiches.  it's really, really good.

  • The chicken tacos were kind of amaze. 6 boneless skinless chicken breast, 1 packet low sodium taco seasoning and 1 jar hot picante sauce, I cooked on low til the chicken was done and then shredded. Super spicy.

  • Complete Barbecue Chicken Dinner in the Slow Cooker

    boneless chicken breasts

    barbecue sauce

    potatoes, chopped

    Instructions

1.Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.

4.Make a large packet out of foil and wrap the potatoes in it, loosely.

    5.Wrap each corn in foil.

6.Place the potato packet on top of the chicken. Add the corn.

7.Cook on high for 5-6 hours or low for 7-8

Chocolate Lava Cake Ingredients: 1 package devils food cake mix 3 eggs 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 2/3 cups water 1 package Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding Mix 2 cups cold milk 1 bag (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips   Prepare cake mix into batter using eggs, oil, and water. • Sami, you'd probably like crockpot salsa chicken, it's similar to the tacos you described, only you'd add in chicken breasts (2-3), packet of taco seasoning, jar of salsa, can of black beans (drained), can of corn (drained). cook on low for 6-7 hours, shred chicken with a fork, serve on soft tortillas with sour cream and cheese.  It makes a lot and freezes well, too.

  • The crockpot lemon chicken katjafly mentioned is great, we really enjoy it. I do pulled pork, shredded bbq chicken, salsa chicken, meatballs, beer braised pot roast in the crockpot. I've even done gyro meat and grinders (or hoagies) in the crockpot. We have good luck using it and use it frequently!
  • The crockpot makes awesome shredded beef tacos. I don't have the recipe with me, but the one I have is similiar to this.

  • I've gotten all my favorite go to recipes here so I don't have much to contribute.  I do like to cook a whole chicken in the crockpot too.  I think I used this recipe last time I did it http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2011/02/25/recipe-the-best-whole-chicken-in-a-crock-pot/  I just followed the recipe very loosely and threw some potatoes and carrots in too to make it a whole meal.  We ate it one night and I made chicken noodle soup with the leftover chicken for the next night.

  • Tyler Florence's pulled pork. I know E doesn't do pork, and I have subbed beef in the past, and that's been great as well.

The BBQ sauce is great, though I usually double the recipe.

I'm on there as well unless its a whole chicken with carrots, onions & potatoes. Still not the best but better than breasts

We try to use it once a week - usually for pork.  We do pulled pork alot in it - throw it in there with bbq sauce, carrots, onions, potatoes. Good to go.

Also I use it for steel cut oats in the morning - the best!

I totally forgot that I have made this to! I put in raisins, or cran-raisins... I'll have to dig up my recipe for this weekend. The house smells so good when you make these. Thanks for the reminder!

I use my crockpot mainly for chicken, chili and meatballs. I don't have any earth-shattering recipes to share, though!
