Thanks for the dentist advice! I'm going to give them a call after lunch.
On another topic... are you coaching Faith's soccer team? B/c I was hoping to get an expert opinioin
Lanna's first day of practice was Saturday and she HATED it! She started out okay, just some whining about the gear, but once the game started she was crying and saying her legs hurt and she proceeded to complain and cry throughout the remainder of the practice. I sort of anticipated this... she frustrates easily and I suspect she takes after her mother in the athletic department (sadly). But DH wanted her to do it, and I do think it'd be good for her if she'd give it a chance.
He's ready to hang it up (we already have dance on Saturdays, so it makes for a busy morning), but we went out and bought all of this gear, and part of me thinks that b/c she commited to it that she should stick it out. What would you recommend? Also, when she's crying, should we try to help out and talk to her on the sidelines, or should we take more of a back seat and let her coaches talk to her? I don't want to be a helicopter parent, but at the same time I also don't want them to feel like she's absorbing too much of their attention and we're just hanging out watching it go down.
Re: 6307bride
Thanks! I think it'd be good to work with her on some stuff outside of practice at some point. If our schedules ever allow for it! Moving, combined with all of the regular fall stuff, and then adding this and dance on Saturdays... it's just crazy!
She seems to enjoy some of the activities, but not the game. I'm sure she just doesn't understand it enough and that's frustrating her. Our coaches seem fine and so are the other girls, so hopefully it'll get better. I definitely don't think Wes will be attending the full practice from now on! He was very bored with it by the end.
