Over here for business this week. Starting out here and will end up in Hong Kong Friday. The plane ride (14 hours on top of a 2-hour flight to Chicago) was absolutely miserable. I'm kind of sick, I hadn't slept well Sunday night, and for the last 5 hours of the flight my right knee was in excruciating pain (I have knee problems and sometimes they'll hurt). But, I'm here. It's crazy because it's 7:30pm here whereas it's 7:30am back home.
China's pretty much everything I expected it to be. It's definitely interesting, but it's not somewhere I'd want to live or even spend a decent amount of time in. I don't know how my boss, with 5 kids, can make this trip over several times a year. He's crazy.
Oh, and I forgot that the Chinese government blocked Facebook. So I can't get onto my account. Boo.
Here's to hoping I can sleep through the night. I'm really missing H right now, especially since its been such a long day
On a positive note, though, the hotels have wireless and we have iPhones so we can iMessage ![]()

Ohh,that sounds super exciting. I may have missed it, but do you like it over there?
And Facebook is blocked? Did they block Goggle too?
My Blog
I'm here until Saturday morning. I'm hoping the weather on Friday evening in Hong Kong will be nice because we're planning to go up Victoria Peak just outside the city to see a big Buddha and have dinner.
I'll definitely post pictures once I can! All I have is my iPhone and my work laptop, and I'm not sure if my work laptop will let me get onto this site haha. It's interesting, but I liked Europe much better. Less smog, people have been driving for more than 5 years, it's not halfway around the world... But I know H would never want to even visit China, so I don't regret coming just because I'd probably never get the experience otherwise.
And yep, think it might be all social media they blocked, since my twitter app won't update. I don't remember the reasoning behind it, but it's kind of a bummer. It'll be interesting to see if Hong Kong allows it. There is still Google, though!
