Baby Bjorn Bouncy Chair

Does anyone have one? I saw one at a neighbor's house yesterday and it seemed pretty great - sits pretty upright so the baby can look around, and really bouncy so the baby could bounce himself.

I kind of want one but was pretty shocked at how much they cost. Does anyone have one? Worth getting? My neighbor's baby seemed to love it and she said it was a must have for both her kids.

I bought the Mamaroo and our LO has no interest in it, so I'm thinking of selling the Mamaroo and getting the Baby Bjorn Bouncer, but I'd like more reviews first!

  • I see them pop on craigslist often. I don't think they have a long life though.
  • The babysitter balance? Kross from this board recommended it and I was able to score one from CL for $40. So far worth every penny because DS will sit in it while DH or I are home alone and need to shower. Also very easy to move from room to room while an exersaucer and jumper are not.

  • Yarp, LOVE IT but love it more because my mom bought it for me ;) Youre right, its a hard price tag to swallow, but it really is great quality, durable, washable (SEVERAL diaper blow outs in that thing and there is not one sign of wear on it), folds up fairly small to slip behind a couch or next to a bookcase or in a coat closet etc.

As Ive mentioned, ad nauseum, DD had bad reflux and this was one of the only contraptions she'd sit in for more than 5 minutes without freaking out so I could make dinner or load the dishwasher or read a book on the porch etc. We got the added toy bar too which provides a good deal of entertainment. We've brought it out many times when younger babies visit us and they all love it. Due to the lack of head support you probably need an added head surround thingy or just wait until the baby is a couple months old to use it though.

DD will occasionally sit in it now if she sees it out, and she really likes it but she is getting a little too big--still, she's almost 3 yrs old so Id say thats a pretty good lifespan for a baby item. Im sure she'll wedge herself into it when she sees her sister using it in a couple months, just for spite.

  • I looked on Craigslist and so far haven't seen one close by, but I'll keep an eye out.

I'm having tea with my neighbor again on Monday so maybe I'll try her in it and see how she does. I don't want a rerun of the Mamaroo - awesome, awesome reviews and baby girl wants nothing to do with it! She prefers the far cheaper, far bigger and less high tech My Little Snugabunny swing which I got off Craigslist!

I'm just going to post the Mamaroo and then hope a Bjorn bouncy seat comes up.
