SO gift ideas

Re: SO gift ideas

  • That is so bizarre... who could relax with that thing on their face?  And yes, eleni is also a sucker for advertising. Yesterday she told me she "yearns for a pink puppy blanket that is also a puppet".   Yes, yearns.  Thank you Word Girl.
  • HA! They say the funniest stuff. Lanna told me yesterday while we were going for a walk that her "leg pits" were sweating!

Anyway, she was "yearning" for that too, until she got it for her birthday. Now we have a Cuddleupit to add to our collection of crap she requested and never played with again.

  • If I hear one more request for a Dreamlight I might lose it - because we already have the turtle that projects stars!  Is it not the same thing?!  And he does not need one more thing that lights up or plays music in his bed.  It already rivals the Kennywood carousel in there at bedtime.

Lanna got a Dreamlight for her bday too. She also has the Twilight lady bug and a turtle that she confiscated from her brother last Xmas. And you're correct, the Dreamlight is completely redundant. It alternates colors and projects part of the stars in a constellation in the shape of the animal you have.

yep, we have the same request at our house and have the lady bug light. She claims her lady bug is not cuddly. I argue she sleeps with so many lights on that she won't even see the stars anyway.

  • Another dreamlight obsessed kid here, too!  Someone brought one in for show and tell to school, I thought his head was going to explode with excitement just telling me about it.

  • Oh and Jake sleeps with his door open and a small nightlight on in the hallway; he told me that when he gets his dream light for Christmas, he will start sleeping with the door shut because he won't need the hall light on.  He said it like it was a selling point to this dream light contraption.

Same here!  Our oldest has the twilight turtle already and our youngest still has the mobile projecter thingy on her crib.  But they still "need" the dreamlight.  My almost 2 year old walks around the house singing the dreamlight song.  Thanks alot Sprout, thanks a lot.

  • I got that pitch from Lanna too. She quoted me a line directly from the commercial, saying that they "alleviate fear of the dark."

  • I wonder if we can get a mass order discount?    Stick out tongue

  • This whole post is carcking me up b/c we, too, have the turtle thingie and Gavin also wants a Dreamlight. And I'm trying to think of the other thing he is hung up on right now... that he already has another version of.

    Ahhh, marketing at it's finest!

    hahahahah!

Another dreamlight obsessed kid in my house too. S keeps telling me she'll give her turtle to "kids in need." Yup, she's totally using my own words against me after we gave away about 20 bags of toys she'd outgrown before our move.

  • This post makes me glad we mainly watch Netflix streaming for dd's tv shows or movie DVDs! Dd certainly requests items she sees in stores but there's no tv marketing for her. I don't think I could deal with that too!
    Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers
  • Off of TV dd asked for Stompeez--and not much else.

Although, she's taken to looking at pinterest with me.  So far she's "pinned" snowman pancakes for Christmas and some horses.

  • We also got Stompeez for DD's birthday. Seriously, if anyone wants to know anything about a made for TV kids product, I'm your girl. We pretty much have them all. Except for Pack It. She's still bugging me for a Pack It.
  • I had to go google Dreamlight because I never heard of it!  B only watches Big Bang Theory or MM Clubhouse off DVR. Those are "her" shows for her tv time or treat.  I don't get the big deal about the dream light????   It just plays a song and projects lights onto the ceiling??
