TV Shows

What are your favorite?

Watch any of the new ones that have started the last couple of weeks?

What are your feelings on "reality" shows?

How much TV do you watch each week, and how many TV stations do you get?

Re: TV Shows

  • I watch The Big Bang Theory, Falling Skies, GLEE, Bones, Melissa & Joey, Hot in Cleveland...

I've been catching Go On. I'm still on the fence about it.

I like the audition episodes if the talent-search shows: The Voice, American Idol, X-Factor, America's Got Talent... But once they get into the bigger productions, I don't care for them as much. And, America's votes are bogus, with people who.should win being voted off too early. Exceptions: So You Think You Can Dance, and The Sing Off. Deep appreciation for those contestants, and their talent is really the focus of those shows. Even if my favorite doesn't win, it still makes me happy to watch.

I don't care for shows that follow families as they go about their lives, or put strangers together to find love, etc. A single episode of a special that focuses on whatever aspect is fine, but I don't like the idea of lives being lived completely on camera, and "celebrities" being made of personalities that shouldn't be glamourized.

I watch a lot of kids' tv, especially lately with my migraines and inability to play with my kids like I wish I could. Disney Junior, Nick Jr., PBS... A lot of nights, though, I am just sitting on the couch without turning on the television. Some shows I really want to.watch with DH instead of by myself, and he tends to.do other activities at night. We have a Netflux movie we haven't seen yet, been waiting for us for weeks.

  • I love watching The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Parenthood.

We caught the 3rd episode of Go On last night and enjoyed it, although DH watched the first one and hated it. We'll see if we happen to catch it and like it again.

In general, I don't like reality shows. I can't get past the first 30 seconds of Survivor, American Idol, or anything with Real Housewives in the title. I do, however, enjoy the cooking shows (especially Masterchef) and So You Think You Can Dance. I suppose some of the stuff I watch on Discovery can be considered reality - Deadliest Catch and the gold mining shows.

We usually watch about an hour of TV a night after DS goes to bed. Now that it's football season, it will be on another 4 hours + watching that on Sundays. We get something like 16 stations (local package from Cox) and we watch a lot of stuff on Hulu (Parenthood, most often, since there's no way I can stay up until 11 to see it in prime time).

  • I'm a Grey's girl, and Private Practice, and I LOVE Parenthood.

i started Go On, The New Normal, and Guys w/ Kids is on my DVR. Go On has potential but meh, New Normal makes me laugh.

I'm not a big reality show person - I'll watch the voice or dancing with the stars in the background while i'm busy working or crafting but that's about it.

Um, too many stations in this house, but we'll be cutting back shortly. If they offered a "network and premium movie channels" only package that would be ideal here. I watch almost nothing else really. I DVR a lot and then try to watch it all. When DH travels I'm alone at night for hours so it's nice to have stuff on the DVR to watch while I clean and craft and such.

  • I watch NCIS, Grays, Modern Family, Grimm, Scandal

I caught a few episodes of New Normal and it made me laugh.  My DH wanted to DVR Revolution but we haven't watched it yet.

I rarely watch reality shows.  I do like Top Chef but that's the only one I watch religiously.  I have been watching the blind auditions of the voice but only for lack of anything better on.

We usually watch 1-2 hours after the kids go to bed.  We have digital cable but  no premium stations.

  • Forgot to answer one if your questions. We have FiOs HD, but don't pay for the premium channels (ie, HBO, Showtime, etc.)

  • duh I forgot GLEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I've been watching Saving Hope and I kinda like it but am getting annoyed, not knowing where in the world it's going.

And I DVR'd Revolution to try out.
