So where I work is for a service company (appliance repair) so people call in and I get to take their information plus doing all warranty work and dealing with those companies. Anyways I hear some of the craziest names and I don't mean like Apple. That is normal compared to what I hear. So what are the craziest/weridest names you have heard or seen.
This is by far my favorite. It's a spelling one. The lady's name was Ashley (my name mind you) BUT it was spelt as ***. No words are needed after that.

My Blog:Through My Eyes
I was wondering why the name wasn't showing up....

my mom is an RN at the hospital so she runs across a lot of weird ones too.
one time a lady delivered a baby girl and when the parents don't have a name picked out they name the baby female or male lastname. well the lady was like, "ohhh! they named her for me!" and pronounced female and fe-mall-eeee
then mom told me about this lady that had twin girls and named them lemonjello and orangejello (pronounced le-mOn-ju-lo and or-An-ja-lo) i thought mom was just making stuff up until a lady came into the restaurant i was working as a hostess at and i asked for her name to put on the waitlist and she said lemonjello and pronounced it the same way... i had that, "you've got to be kidding me" look on my face lol

When you quote you can see the words that were blocked out!
Why would it be spelled like that?? Was she like, "My name is Ashley, I'll spell it out for you. A-S-S-H...."? Could someone have written that because she was mean or rude to them? I have so many questions. I don't see that being her legal name because, well, it's probably not legal to have your kid's name spelled as a swear word!
Some of my favourite names I've seen over the years are Dudley Long Dong (an asian guy in college) and D!ck Inman - I don't know if thenest blocks the word d!ck lol
Amazing.
YES!!!! They only way we found out is because when the paperwork came back I asked if she was rude to them because of the way the technician had written that by her name. He said no but she was upset that we spelt her name wrong so she wrote it correctly to be changed into our system.
Oh my gosh. Where I work, I come across weird names all the time!
For example, a girl's name is Christmas Holly... please, just GUESS what her birthday was.
Another? Blu E. Green, Bienvenido...
I wish I was at work so I could give you more!!!
I know someone that works as a RN. This was her story....
Her sheet read "Le-ah." So, she called out the individual's name as "Leah." No one responds. She repeats herself a couple of times and finally a chick stands up...
"It's Le-ah (pronounced La Dash Ah); the dash ain't silent."
Ha, really?? And if we're being grammatically correct, wouldn't it be "La Hyphen Ah"
When I worked in the NICU, we had a running list of things not to name your child taped in one of the cabinets in the breakroom. The rule was it had to be a name given to a child who was in the NICU. There were some doozies:
Just a few:
Duvavier Gugginard (that was first and middle and said like it was spelt)
Hawk Eye
Lady Jay
ShayJay
Calliope MIsty Dawn Brook
I don't know what's worse, these names or every kid named Hayden/Brayden/Jayden/Aiden....pretty much insert any letter of the alphabet + "ayden". Nevaeh ("heaven" backwards), any name that changes an "i" for a "y" just to be different (Madison --> Madyson).
They aren't crazy or weird, but incredibly annoying. Sorry, anyone who names their kids any of these immediately loses all credibility in my book.
I like interesting spellings, but along with that, I hate when people spell the "-ey" sound at the end of a name like "eigh" (i.e. Ashleigh, Hayleigh, etc.) Girl, please!
I don't get giving girls boys' names and vice versa. One of my coworkers has a new granddaughter named Charlee. Or Jessica Simpson naming her daughter Maxwell.
I also don't get giving your kid a weird name. Growing up is hard enough, why do you need to make it even more difficult?
This made me laugh! My name is "Kelsee Dianne." Just last week H and I were saying tht we should have changed my first AND middle spellings to the "normal" way when we filled out the paperwork to change my last name! It's so annoying having a funny spelling name... When I was a kid, I was totally jealous of everyone that had suvineer mugs, pens, etc. with their name on it, because I couldn't have it! And now, it's awkward to correct coworkers when they misspell my name... it's a struggle I'd rather not have to deal with!
I work in payroll, and in my old dept, my clients would call their payroll in to us to process.
We always run across interesting names. And I have to say them (or attempt to say them) with a straight face when asking for the hours.
One of my clients has an employee named 'Harry Pitts.'
When our co-workers are out of the office, we will sometimes get their clients on the phone. One of those times, the employee's name was spelled 'Semon.'
Yeah, you can imagine how I pronounced that. It was actually supposed to be pronounced like 'Say-mon' Whoops.
And someone I know told me that they knew a teacher who had a kid named 'sh1thead' pronounced 'Shih-Thade' Riiiight. I can't vouch for the authenticity of tha story, though

My name is completely made up and I used to hate it as a kid, but now I love that I've never met anyone with my name. I also liked never having another kid in my class with my name. My H has a very common name, the kind where there are always four kids in the same class with your name and I couldn't stand that. I've grown to like my name, but in mine and my moms defense, it isn't a ridiculous everyday word that is really just mispronounced. Its the Arabic word for "beautiful," (and I'm Lebanese so we didn't just pick a language out of a hat) so it makes sense.
I have heard of someone ALMOST naming their kid Theckla, but other than that I havent really come across the same type of strange names that you ladies in customer service had!
I have actually heard that name before but I think it was pronounced differently but still spelt like sh!thead.
My parents had to make mine difficult to spell as well... Catelyn... i ALWAYS get either Katelyn or Caitlin. The closest i've ever seen to my spelling is Catelynn from teen mom haha My middle name is Leigh... for the first couple years of my life.. apparently my aunt was convinced it was pronounced Lay... not Lee
On another note.. we were cleaning out files at work.. a guys last name.. Lebastard... i may have laughed a little..
I was speaking more of REALLY ridiculous name spellings. Kelsey-->Kelsee, Britney/Brittany, etc. really isn't that huge of a change.
Talking about the kid who came to the office yesterday named Jake. OH, I'M SORRY....JAYK. I want to slap the stupid out of people like that.
