Is Beaches Turks and Caicos really worth it

I would like to take my family to Beaches in Turks & Caicos but it is soooo expensive. If anyone has been ther is it really worth it? My children are 20, 14, 12 and 6. Any info you can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Is Beaches Turks and Caicos really worth it

  • I know two people who have been- my manager at work and my stepmother went with her daughter and the grandkids. My manager spent over $30K on their trip, but she said the entire family had a blast! My stepmother also had a great time, though no idea how much they spent. I think because of the costs, it's always better to have your children be older so they can remember it. Most of your kids will. If you are looking for something somewhat similar (all inclusive and kid/teen friendly) check out Dreams Resorts. They aren't as big as Beaches, and perhaps not as focused on younger kids, but they are nice and about half the cost. Most Dreams properties are in Mexico (both coasts) and the Dominican Republic. I've been to the Dreams in Cabo and thought it was very nice, clean, and had a lot of options for families in general.

  • Totally worth it!! We have been there several times and absolutely loved it. My only word of warning...if you can call it that, is once you go it's the kind of place you will rate other places against and those other places...will fail in comparison.

My wife just returned from a trip there and she's heading back in October for their annual Girlfriends Getaway.

We have great friends there and a ton of info on the resort - send me a private message and I can send the info to you...good info to research your trip.

  • Also - if you snorkel - make sure you check out some gear from the dive shack, head to the water and turn left - go down the beach about 300 yards to the reef in front of Coral Gardens.

From the shore, you can wade right in and see some of the most amazing sea life and some StingRays once in a while. JoJo the Dolphin, also frequents that area of the Bay too. He is legendary down there.

But if you head down early in the morning....say - 9am, you might see one of the large Sea Turtles swimming through.
They are very curious and will swim right up to you at times!  I have spent countless hours on that reef system - love it there!
  • I have co-workers that have gone with there families (all of different age ranges) and now will not go anywhere else. It is expensive but apparently totally worth the money!
