I just booked a mini session with a favorite photographer of mine for October 21st. It is just 20 minutes in downtown Madison WI. She does this once a year and it is super cheap. I am really excited because we get to fit our first anniversary pics and Christmas card pics into one 20 minute session. I have this romantic idea of getting anniversary pictures done every year. We will see how long that lasts.
Anyway, the only question I have is to what we should wear. It will be cold here by then, so obviously a summer dress is out of the question. and, there won't be time to change at all. So, what clothes would look good on a christmas card, but also good in a frame all year round as a 1st anniversary portrait? I want them to go together, but not be super matchy, matchy. Anyone have any personal experience, or ideas?
Re: Photographs---help!
We had our engagement photos on October 23, 2010 (wow does that feel like forever ago!). We're in Pittsburgh... it ended up being 75 degrees and I wore all heavy fall things.
I wore a tank top underneath a long sleeve shirt with a sweater and then changed into another long sleeve shirt and a fall vest. Because I had the tank top on, I just whipped the shirt off quickly and the other shirt on. I swapped heels for casual boots.
Is there a place downtown you can use the restroom (Starbucks?) to change? ETA: I just realized you said you don't have TIME to change... not that there is no PLACE to change!
Here are a couple inspiration links that my photographer pinned on Pinterest. They are family-oriented, but you might see something you like:
