Cooper update :(
He has a tumor in his nasal cavity, and it's started to grow behind his eye into his brain. We are waiting for the final biopsy results sometime next week, but the doctor is pretty certain it is cancerous. She feels that while it is treatable, it isn't curable. If we do nothing, but give him some meds we have weeks to a month or two left with him. If we do radiation we could have a year or more, depending on how it reacts, but she said it has spread too far to do surgery to remove it. While we know it isn't likely at all, we are hoping that somehow it isn't cancerous. The good news is that he isn't in any pain and the type of radiation would most likely not cause him a great deal of pain, and there are only a few treatments. Right now we are really leaning towards the radiation, we just can't imagine not trying to extend our time with him, but at the same time we dont want him to get to the point where he is in pain and uncomfortable. We are absolutely devestated, after my mom found him, it was just Dh, Cooper, and I for 2 years (before we adopted Riley), our own little family with our fur baby. His breed has a really long life expectancy so we always just assumed we would have years with him, and it's heartbreaking knowing that our time with him will be up sooner rather than later. And it's always been "Cooper and Riley" our two little white fur balls, it's going to be so hard just having RY.
