I just discovered....the diva cup?!?

Does anyone use a diva cup instead of tampons? I'm kind of intrigued by it. Just wondering if it's something I should be trying. I feel so out of the loop. I had no idea something like that existed.

  • interesting... i have never heard of it.  you are supposed to wash it 2 or 3 times a day?  what do you do in a public bathroom (aka at work)?  makes me squirmy reading about it.

    hmmm thats a good question

  • I haven't tried it, but it's very popular with ladies on other boards.  They said that if you HAVE to empty it in a public restroom (but most claim not to have to do it), that you just wipe it with toilet paper.  Then you can clean it better at home.   And that's all I know about it.
  • wow learn something new every day.  I don't like the name but the concept interests me

  • I have been intrigued by it before, but never bought one just because I had an IUD for some time and was worried about it creating suction and possibly pulling it out.  But now that it has been removed I should probably look into it again.   I think most people empty it in the morning, and in the evening at home.  And you just have to rinse it out when you empty it.  Then a lot of girls just clean it once really well after their period is over. If your cycle is heavier, some people say they have to empty it more often.  I think once you get used to using it, it would be a big convenience.
  • Menstrual cups have been around for a while, but I still don't think it's something I'm quite ready to try yet.  I just feel like it would be unsanitary to wipe it off and put it back in, and I also feel like it would be kind of messy.  Although, I think once I could get comfortable with the idea, it would be convenient.

I agree, the name is lame.  I had a month long period last month.  The money I spent on tampons was insane.  This would have saved me so much money.

  • I don't know why but it creeps me out.  I was a cloth diaper mom and that never bothered me but there is just something about blood and such that makes me feel queezy.
