Waiting... to retest

waiting is so hard! So I know I tested yesterday and it was negative, but I am still not convinced. I still haven't gotten my period... granted I am not 100% sure when it would come because of being on the pill for almost a year. I think it should come any day now. If it doesn't come by Thursday I am testing again. Maybe I am just overthinking. I told DH I still haven't gotten it and he told me I just need to be patient and wait, but it is so hard.

I've been so tired lately. I told DH it is a symptom of being pregnant, but he said I'm just stressed or not getting enough sleep. Thinking, overthinking, etc.

What are some things that gave you ladies the idea you were pregnant?

  • You are so strong for putting off testing! I already know I'm going to be obsessive/compulsive POAS haha. I am not pregnant, but wanted to stop by and say good luck and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the best :)

At least I know I'm not crazy! LOL! What is POAS??? And thank you for your kind thoughts.

Just found out POAS is pee on a stick... There's an actual website for it....

  • Honestly all my symptoms could have been passed off as PMS. Had we not been trying and I had not been peeing on things like a mad woman, the only thing that would have tipped me off is missing my period.

LOL! I guess everyone gets obsessed. I'm trying very hard to wait to pee on a stick again until Thursday. I am happy I didn't get a positive yesterday... I just read on a website that most pregnancies that test positive before a missed period miscarry or were only chemical non-viable pregnancies. So I am thankful for yesterday's negative, but still somewhat hopeful for a positive result later in the week, after I am late for my period officially.

  • Where did you get that info? I am going to have to disagree with it. I think what they mean to say is that sometimes a woman can have a chemical pregnancy and not know because there period was just a few days late. However, if a woman is a poasaholic then she's going to test early and be aware that she was pregnant and had a chemical pregnancy. Whether you test and get a positive 2 days before your period or wait and test 1 day after your missed period, its not going to change when you got pregnant, know what I mean?

  • Good luck Megan. I have to say that I didn't really have any symptoms except for the fact that my period is always early, like I get it every 3 weeks. I took Provera ( a form of progesteron) in August and I figured that prolonged my cycle. However, when I was 12 days past ovulation and I still didn't get it, I knew something was up. Also, I did feel a bit queezy at times. As for being tired, I am always tired---pregnant or not so I can't pin-point that as a symptom or not. I will find out the results of my blood test today. I am so nervous. If my beta number is too low I will miscarry.

Sending positive vibes your way, Tara!!!!

Most of my symptoms could be chalked up to PMS as well.  I was obsessive about it, wondering if they were due to pregnancy.  I did have some crazy cramping a week before my period which I thought was weird, but as I went off birth control a few months prior, it could have been from that too.  honestly my missed period and then suddenly not liking the taste of coffee.  Those both happened right about July 1st.  What threw me off was I started spotting on the 2nd, for a couple hours, so I honestly thought I was starting my period.  When I went to bed later and had stopped spotting, that was definitely not how my cycles work.  So when I still hadn't started by the 3rd, I bought another test.

I really don't remember the website. I looked at so many last night.

I agree! I'd be peeing on something everyday until I got a positive or a period.
