So what did you eat for lunch in elementary school?
Because I'm pretty sure my students' parents are going waaaaaaay overboard when they pack their lunches. This is what a typical lunch in Mrs. Janma's classroom looks like:
sandwich
yogurt
cheese stick
grapes
celery sticks with peanut butter
chips
beverage
some sort of dessert (or 2)
And this, people, does not include what they pack for afternoon snack!

The Rowdy Roberts
If I liked the hot lunch I would eat that but if not I would pack a sandwich, a salty snack and a sweet snack.
Do the kids eat all of that?
Have you seen the blogs where the moms spend a ridiculous amount of time and energy packing their children's lunches?
Room temp cheese sandwich on white bread. EVERY.DAY with a SSips juice box. Sometimes I would get a bag of chips because around the time herr's came out with sour cream and onion chips and it was like a treat to get those! Went to Catholic school so there was no lunch room.
Kids get afternoon snacks?? Must be nice. We had morning break and I would get a tastycake or a pack of fruit snacks.
I keep seeing Pinterest ideas for packing lunches and I can't imagine spending that much time or money on my kids lunch.
Chase gets a sandwich, a bottle of water, a small bag of chips, and a yogurt. sometimes if i have fresh fruit or veggies I will give him some of those as well. I do over pack for him, but hes always so hungry that he will eat half his lunch at snack time in the morning.
I give him options for snack time and tell him what to save for lunch cause the child will eat a ham and cheese sandwich at 9am.
I always ate school lunches.
NOPE! I make them repack the leftovers so their parents can see what they did not eat.
They eat lunch around 11:00, so we don't do a morning snack.
