Re: B&M Monday
I have a cold or sinus infection and there isn't much I can do about it.
The nursery still isn't finished being painted.
My back hurts and I forgot my heating pad at home

I have a cold or sinus infection as well. Plus everyone at work is sick and I'm scared going to catch something.

Sounds like we all need a day off and more money.

seriously! I'm only a little over 5 weeks in and I'm dying for some alone time and sleep. BFing seriously sucks, I still want to give up every day, but haven't yet. I guess that's my B&M, BFing is hard and I'm tired of my whole life being dictated by a baby on my boob all.day.long. Seriously I spend 8 hrs a day BFing, I know bc my app tracks it...
I know this wont help much probably, but I just wanted to say that it does get better! They get faster and instead of one nursing session taking an hour, it gets down to like 10 minutes!
I agree with what Lindsay said. I know I felt like I couldn't go anywhere or do anything, slowly but surely that gets better. I've been able to leave her for longer periods of time this last month so that means I can go out and do something without having to worry about her needing to eat. She doesn't take the bottle so if I leave her anywhere I feed her and then leave. You'll get there ladies!!

This whole BF discussion is making me dread it! Lol. I plan on EBF and pumping when I go back to work (after 8 weeks) but I'm wondering how much time ill be able to get out of the house during those weeks.
My B&M Wednesday (because I'm just seeing this) is that I have to speak on a panel twice today about college accessibility to those with alcohol and drug addictions. I appreciate being asked to, but I am terrified of public speaking and I've been sleeping like crap lately. I woke up exhausted and now I'm anxious as heck to have to get up in front of people and be asked questions!
Lena, if it makes you feel better, our nursery hasn't been painted yet and I'm 31 weeks today lol.
Sorry to scare you! I will say..I think Yvonne & I have particularly difficult cases compared to many. But it is much harder than it appears. Just don't give up if it doesn't work right away! Lactation consultants are worth their weight in gold!
And Lena & Sarah - you're fine...L will be 4 months on Monday...his room isn't decorated yet..heck, his crib doesn't even have sheets on it yet!
I agree, we seem to have some special circumstances, I had/have supply issues, and the trade off for Ben sleeping so well at night is he wants to eat all.day.long, he needs to get his calories in somehow since he's not waking up every couple hours at night. In fact, last night between 7 pm - 10:30 am this morning, he was only up 3.5 hrs total to eat and get changed. I will say though, Laura is right a good LC, particularly an IBCLC is worth their weight in gold. Also, see if there are any free "drop in" support groups offered by any local hospitals. The one I delivered at doesn't have one, but the one in a neighboring town does. Even though I didn't deliver there, I signed a waiver and go every Tuesday, there's an LC there, we do weighed feeds, get help with any issues we're having, and I get to socialize with other moms. It's basically the highlight of my week, plus I don't have to worry about feeding him, because I feed him there with all the other moms BFing too. So it's helped me get more comfortable NIP.
Ben's nursery has been done since I was like 32 weeks or so, but of course he doesn't sleep in there, we could have waited until after he was born to do anything to it. So don't worry about it girls, you have plenty of time!
