I am wondering if there are any Indianapolis-area brides or newlyweds out there that can help us.  My DH is the best man in his friend's wedding in Indy in Feb. 2009.  DH and friend are from Indy-area originally, but his friend is now living in LA, and asked DH for rehearsal dinner location ideas.  I'm not from Indy, so I'm not much help other than searching the net skills.  The wedding is at Laurel Hall in NE Indy, so we are looking in that area.  Does anyone have any good recommendations of rehearsal dinner restaurants or locations.  DH's friend is paying for it, so he's hoping to not spend a ton of money.  We live in Illinois now, but I'm posting on the Indiana board since I thought you girls might be able to help me. Thanks so much.

Twin boys born & lost on 8/16/11 at 18w1d due to PPROM & preterm labor.
IVF #4.1 in Jan 2012 converted to IUI on 1/7/12 = BFN
IVF #4.2 w ICSI in Feb 2012. Lupron on 2/10. Stims on 2/18. ER on 2/29- 7R,6F
ET scheduled for 3/5/12- nothing to transfer :(
Dh seeing new MFI uro & Dh starting meds- June 2012.
IVF #5 in Dec 2012 = BFFN.
IVF #6 planned for Spring 2013. Praying for our take home baby/ies.

    I am happy to help...but what is "a ton of money"??  There are quite a few places if your looking at near Laurel Hall...but a budget and number of guests would help narrow down the locations. Also, are you all staying in nearby hotels or in another area..maybe something near the accomodations might be a better choice?

    We went with the Rathskeller in downtown Indianapolis.  It's actually up closer to Mass Ave, but easily accessible.  It was fairly budget friendly for downtown and our food was pretty good.

    That is a great price point...are you staying on the north side or downtown, there really isn't much by way of dining right at Laurel Hall...56th and Allisonvilleish area. Going a little north to Broad Ripple, north to Castleton..or south to downtown...let me know...see what we can come up with.. 15/20 kids? Grandparents? Pubish or Fine Dining?

    DH doesn't know for sure, but he doesn't think there will be any kids.  He's open to anything from pub to fine dining... didn't know if fine dining is an option at our price point.  Since the wedding & reception isn't at a hotel, they don't have a block of rooms booked at any hotel so people could be staying anywhere.  The groom's parents live near Pendleton, so we're thinking somewhere on the NE side of Indy would be nice for the rehearsal dinner.  Thanks again.

    Check out Simple Cafe (www.simplecafeonline.com ) they do outside catering and have space for 20 for a rehearsal dinner. Cute, smallish, wonderful food.

    Another option would be Lord Ashley's http://www.lordashleys.com/ it's between Pendleton and Indy in Oaklandon. You can call and see what they do.
