In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.

HI!

I'm new to the Nest but I've been on both the knot and bump for a while now. My husband and I have 5 kids the youngest is only 5 months. We eloped last October and had a quiet somewhat nontraditional ceremony. With our anniversary approaching I'd like to make them as memorable and special as possible. I would love some suggestions on what to do. I mean this one sets the precedent for all anniversaries to come right!? thanks in advance!

Re: HI!

  • Not sure what you used to do (and like to do) but here are some ideas (some may be difficult with having a young little one):

    fancy dinner

    dinner and movie

have a stay-cation at a nice hotel for a night

go on a weekend trip someplace a 2-4 hour drive away

Visit someplace in your city/ area you always wanted to/ haven't yet

have a picnic after visiting an orchard/ picking out pumpkins

Even if you don't do anything this time around you should get/ make heartfelt cards for each other. You could just exchange a gift (can be homemade). There are some posts farther down with gift ideas.

The traditional 1 year gift is Paper. The modern 1 year gift is a timepiece.
