Travel Thursday

How about something new this week ladies. Travel Thursday! Discuss any upcoming trips or future trips you are planning to take. Or anywhere you have always dreamed of going.

Re: Travel Thursday

  • I could write forever on this topic! Travel is like... my number 1 "dream" so many places I want to go!

Upcoming however, we are off to Toronto to visit my best friend next weekend, i'm so excited.... she moved just over a year ago so now I only get to see her once or twice a year... been a little more this year with my wedding (she was MOH), and then her grandma died so she came home for that. But! I can't WAIT to go spend time with her.

In January H and I are going to Disneyland! Also super pumped about that! We're both still 12 at heart.. i can't wait!

Places on my list of I want to go there: San Fransisco, Portland & Area, the Maritimes here in Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, back to London, back to some places in Italy, Greece when they aren't having a political melt down... the list goes on and on and on..... I love traveling!

  • No money for travel :(

We are tentatively planning to go to Mexico in May but it wont be to a resort. I volunteered at an orphange in a rural town there for 5 years, and want to take H back to see where I spent so much time and meet my friends and "family" there. We are thinking though that we might road trip it though to make more of an adventure and stop in portland and san fran and san diego on the way.

  • O I like this! We are actually going on our Honeymoon two weeks from today!

We are going to Sandals Royal Bahamian in the Bahamas! And we're actually doing a double honeymoon with my best friend and her husband! :) We've had this booked since January and we are so excited that its finally almost here! We'll be there for 6 nights! Although we are going with another couple we will still have time alone and plan to do somethings without them.

We also have swimming with dolphins planned in Atlantis on Sunday Oct 14th!

And me and hubby have a candlelight dinner on the beach booked at the resort. I just cant wait! I will definitely post pics when we get back!

  • Travel Thursday, yes please!

We are headed to Puerto Rico in just under a month for SIL's wedding!! I'm very excited for that.  We're only going from Thursday to Monday, but Thursday to Monday in PR is so much better than Thursday to Monday here in CT!  :)

Other than that, no real big travel plans.  Hopefully we'll have a couple of weekends away- up to my aunt and uncles house on the back of Okemo Mtn in VT over the winter, etc.  I also want to make a plan to visit my parents in Florida this winter.  My younger brother is in San Diego, so there's another place I want to visit...  :)

Thanks, fam, for helping me to vacation cheaply!!  Now if only I could save up enough vacation time to go for longer than a weekend!!

One thing I want to do someday is rent an RV and go for a cross-ocuntry road trip.  I think that would be amazing.

  • We're planning on moving next summer. Nothing officially in the works, but that kills the travel buzz for this year. But, I'm just siked to get back near home.

We are saving for a baby-making trip. How weird does that sound? Haha. H and I really want to go on a big trip before having kids while it is still just us. So we have a savings account we sink money into each month we can. We're planning on Ireland. I'm half Irish and he's got a lot of Irish blood too. He's been there once before for research. We're going to retrace our genetic line and explore some of the sights. We're hoping to do the whole bed and breakfast self-tour with occasional planned activities for a week. It should be really neat.  We also hope we could conceive while there--made in Ireland anyone? Haha.

Right now this is planned for 2015...but we shall see where the next 3 years take us :)

  • Well since we blew a giant hole in our savings to buy the new house, we aren't going anywhere anytime soon, unless Home Depot counts.  We were hoping to go see my Uncle in Florida next spring and take a few days to do Disney, but it's looking like a no go at this point.

I love to travel, I've been all over the place, H is not a seasoned traveller at all.  I took him last year to Washington DC and that's the furthest he's ever been from home and it's a 4.5 hour drive from our house, but we're working on that.

  • Next month we're planning a long weekend about three hours away in Maine. Not a big deal, but it's nice to get away! For our wedding a friend got us a weekend on Nantucket so I think we're going to take that for our one year anniversary. That's it for us, for now. We're trying to pay down some debt and save for a house so nothing extravagent.

As far as dream travel plans, I've always wanted to visit Ireland, Italy and our National Parks. H really wants to travel to Australia one day. If money weren't an option, I'd love to do one of those month long trips around the world and visit everywhere!

  • I love travel!  For our next big trip we are going to Ko Olina in Oahu, Hawaii for 10 days.  We are leaving at the end of May - a 1st anniversary/destination wedding for one of my BMs.  SO excited!

  • We'd love to go to Italy! That's our next dream trip, but since we're paying the wedding off, I think we might just end up going on a road trip across Canada next summer :)

  • Next weekend I'm going to St. Louis for a college roommate reunion.  We'll be in Florida at the end of Oct. for FIL's birthday.  But, the next big trip we have planned is to visit MIL in France for Thanksgiving.  But, we will most likely be moving in November (fingers crossed the inspection/appraisal go well), so now DH is hesitant about leaving so quickly after we move in to go to France.  So, we may cancel that trip. :( We're deciding this weekend.

Then the baby comes in Feb./March so besides two weddings we have in May (LA and Charleston) we'll be homebound for awhile.

My dream trips are Greece or Australia.  We'll go to both one day, I'm sure, but it'll be at least a few years (or maybe decades!)
