Any thoughts for something to do with old cards?

Not sure if this is the right place for this but are there any suggestions for doing things with old cards? I have saved a bunch throughout the years.. I need an idea on what to do.. any thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Any thoughts for something to do with old cards?

  • this is a great question.  Right now I have a bunch of old cards in a box in my closet.  I'm curious to see if anyone has any good ideas.  You could always stick them in a scrapbook I guess, but then you'd have to take the page protector off to read the insides....

  • do you want to keep them intact or recycle them into new things?

If you don't need to keep them intact you can cut out part of the design on the front and make your own cards or gift tags. or to jazz up plain gift bags. you can even cut parts out to add to scrapbook pages.

If you want to keep them so you can remember who they are from you can punch a hole in the corner and  use a binder ring to hold them together. this way you can flip through quickly and keep them organized.

I have been thinking about getting something like this this http://getpostmarked.com/PM_greeting_card_album_intro.html for my wedding cards.

    Hope this helps

  • Here's a cute idea from Pinterest...binding them together as someone mentioned above.

  • I recycle the fronts (images) into new papercraft, and keep the backs (insides) in pockets of photo albums and scrapbooks that they go with. I love the binder idea, but I never look through old cards. I only keep them out of guiltEmbarrassed

  • I hear ya, I feel like I should keep them. But also, it's nice to see the cards after so much time has passed and people have passed away. The ring binder idea is a good one.
  • I am doing something like this with our cards. I am using my bind it all to make them into a book.

  • If you have cards that go with any of your decor why not frame them? It would make your wall art much more personal, and would be an inexpensive way to decorate.
  • We put some of my shower cards in frames around the room For the wedding, I am planning to scrapbook them front forward, with pictures of who gave the card to me next to it. I know I will have to take them out to read the middle, but like many said here I don't plan to look at it all time time, but this way I have the insides if I am ever interested. I think having the picture of the person who gave the card to me next to it will help me find the appropriate card when I do want to look at one someone gave me.
  • Hole bunch them through the top. Then get one of those metal circular loops and loop it through the hole punches. This way you can flip through them and keep them neatly. You also could re-use the cover to make your own cards. Or scrapbook them if they mean a lot to you.
