Disney World dining recommendations

Our trip to Disney World is coming up soon and I still don't have anything planned. Eeeeek! Would love to get some restaurant recs at the 4 parks (not doing the water parks). Where did you eat that you loved? Thank you!

Re: Disney World dining recommendations

  • Quick Service or Sit Down?  I assume quick service because sit down may be booked by now.  Here are some of our favorites:

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons or pretty much anywhere in World Showcase (we especially enjoy the pastries in France~although I think they are closed right now for a rehab)

Magic Kingdom: Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Ray's, Pinocchio Village Haus (and a Dole Whip from Aloha Isle is a must!!)

Hollywood Studios: nowhere really stands out, but we have had decent food from Pizza Planet and Fairfax Fare

Animal Kingdom: again nowhere really stands out, but we've eaten the same pizza they have at Pizza Planet at Pizzafari

I have some details/pics from our trip 2 years ago in my blog below (we also went last year I just haven't updated my blog recently).

  •  I agree with pp about most of the table meals being booked right now especially since they are giving away the dining plan right now. But if you can get reservations our favorite character meal is Ohana's at the Polynesian resort.

Epoct-Love the quick service in Japan.

MK- crystal palace is great for breakfast if you can get a reservation. Cosmic Rays is our fav. quick service. And definitely get a dole whip like pp mentioned.

HS-  we usually like the studio catering co.

AK-  I Think we usually eat at restaurantosaurus.  ??

  • Most of the places people have listed are pretty good.  I like Pecos Bill's in MK, Coral Reef in Epcot, and Hollywood and Vine in HS.  We always pick random places in AK to eat, so I don't remember any of the names of those places.

Cosmic Rays is so great for Quick Service.  Casey's Corner is also good if you like hot dogs.

If you are into character breakfasts, Chef Mickey's is great!

  • We love:

Chef Mickeys, the princess lunch in germany (epcot) can't remember name, The Grove in the Swan hotel, the irish pub in downtown disney...we sat outside it was great food, drinks and irish dancers to keep kids occupied :)  Holllywood and Vine in HS to name a few

  • Just got back a week or so ago.

MK- Pinocchios Haus was great. We had dinner at Cinderalla's royal table. Both were good.

HS- We had big breakfast at resort. No lunch and dinner at Mama Melrose. YUM. It was so good. Nice to have a break from the character meals too. wonderful desserts.

AK- Flame tree BBQ. Yum Yum Yum. some of the best pulled pork I've had in a long time. Even better than our local place we love at home.

Resort-s 1900 park fare- I thought this was ok but not great.

Chef Mickey's for breakfast was by far our favorite. Great food. great character interaction.

Boatright's- at our resort- PO-Riverside.... I thought the dinner was great. we ate off the meal plan this night as had my dad drive up for dinner.

    Hope that helps!

  • my fave is the californial grill in the contemporary resort. make reservations (you'll need them) ASAP and make them for dinner during the fireworks.

  • Sorry didn't get to respond for a while. Thank you for all your recommendations! VERY helpful. I appreciate it.
  • We really liked Ohana at the Polyneasian.  There are plenty of games and activities to keep everyone entertained while dining and the food was great!
