TGIF everyone!
What are your plans for the weekend?
Tonight we are going to celebrate my MIL birthday. We are going to Bonefish Grill. Yum! (It will be weird not ordering a martini, lol) We are telling his parents and sister the news. It should be nice for his mom to hear it on her birthday.
I am working tomorrow at the hotel gift shop from 1-7:30. Then Sunday I think I am going to ask my mother if she wants to take the 50 minute drive to Trader Joes with me. We'll make a day of it. Go shopping and have lunch at Cracker Barrell.
Re: TGIF
Definitely TGIF!!! Tara, your weekend sounds fun! It does take a little getting used to in not ordering a drink with everyone else. The problem I keep running into, not all restaurants make a "virgin" drink. One of my favorites gets all their drinks pre-mixed. Boo! But so excited for you to share your news. What a great birthday present for your MIL.
I'll be taking care of DH this weekend. He can finally remove the wrap around his knee and leg tomorrow and switched to band aids over his incisions. This will make showering a lot easier. I'm also looking forward to sleeping in. Haven't gotten much sleep the last few nights between getting home last from classes and then helping DH shower and stuff.
We'll watch the OSU vs. Texas game on Saturday. I'll probably go grocery shopping Saturday too. And Sunday it's clean the house day. It's way over due.
Pre mixed drinks? Really??? I have never heard of that!
Tara- Are you doing anything cute to present the news? Like making it a gift to unwrap?
J and I are going out to something called the Parade of homes this weekend. Unfortunately, of course my luck now that I am actually looking at a house, it is nothing like what it used to be. The home builders association puts it together and there used to be 35 open houses of new homes, all in the same time frame. This year it is only 5. But we are going to try to go to all of them. We are going to try to do as many as we can tonight. If we get 4 of them done, we won't go to the 5th.
Saturday we may go to the 5th house, and then we are going out to dinner for my birthday, finally. My bday was in July and we are finally getting a free weekend to go. This was my present from J, to get a nice dinner out to someplace we would never go, because I am a foodie, and he would just as well eat off of the kids menu at most places. We agreed on an Emeril's restaurant at a nearby Casino. I really can't wait.
Sunday- J goes out shotgun shooting with some of the other men in his family, so I have the morning to myself.
I didn't think of ordering a "virgin" drink. Maybe I'll do that. I just figured I'd be drinking a lot of iced tea since that is usually my non-alcholic drink of choice.
I'm glad you DH is recovering nicely.

Didn't think of that. But when I go to CVS today I am going to try to find a card announcing that I'm expecting. I wonder if they make cards like that? If not, we'll probably write it in her b-day card.

I know I saw one or two cards at Target that were announcement type cards. I bought a card for DH there that expressed what a great daddy he was going to be. I bought it in prep of being pregnant, but didn't give it to him until a few weeks after we'd already found out. I kind of forgot in the moment of excitement.
I didn't know restaurants got their drinks pre-mixed either. I think it depends. We have an awesome Italian restaurant where I live, they have a bar, so you wouldn't think a peach bellini would be pre-mixed but apparently all their drinks like that are. I did get a virgin margarita at a Mexican restaurant. yummy! Although most of the time I do just get water or tea.
I did try that sparkling grape juice you can get at the grocery store for my mom's b-day. Yuck! I'd rather not have a drink.
Tara- Watch out for the caffine in iced tea!
We are going to Az this weekend. Honestly as much as I want to see my sister I would much rather stay home and sleep. Dh doesn't know this yet but I am bringing a pillow for the road and he is going to be driving most of the way.
Saturday, I am getting an hair cut and eyebrow wax.
Sunday when we get home we are going to swing by the house and see what progress has been made since last weekend.
That's all I've got!
Thanks, I am sure I will, but we won't be able to afford it. This is more a thinking for the future exercise of what we would like to build in our future. The problem with less houses, is all of the houses in the parade this year are WAY above our price range. We are also using the opportunity to get to know the builders since we want to build in the next 10 years.
Oh, I know and I'm not worried about it. I only drink iced tea when I am out to eat and that's not too often. Plus, everything I've read says that 200mgs of caffeine per day is safe. I don't drink soda and only a 6oz coffee each day.

YAY to both the iphone and the daddy/daughter dinner. That's so sweet of you to take him!
