Just wondering how old do you think a child needs to be to sit through the Rockettes in NYC?
Re: Right age for Rockettes?
My sister and I took my niece to the Pittsburgh performance when she was 7. There were definitely a lot of younger kids there. She was a little restless but loved the live nativity at the end.
My parents are taking her to NYC this Dec (she's now 11) and they are seeing it again per her request.
This completely. I saw the Radio City Rockettes for the first time when I was five but I also grew up attending Broadway shows with my parents and could sit through 2-2.5 hour performances perfectly fine, i.e. not being bored, making noise, etc. However, I know some five year olds that can't still still for more than 10 minutes at a time let alone do so in what's supposed to be a quiet setting. While obviously the Rockettes are geared towards all ages i.e. family oriented not a Broadway show per se, if you know your child would get bored/would want to get up multiple times, I'd probably hold off.

sadly I have never seen them but would love to one day. I agree with all of this to a tee. I was sitting through an entire kabuki theater proformance when I was 3. I sat through ballets from 5 onward. My siblings did not have the attention span I did. Even at 8 and 13 I'm not sure they could because its not thier thing and not really engaging enough for them.
Def depends on the child. My son is 6 and I'm taking him to NYC for the Macy's parade. Thought about the Rockettes as it is cheaper than other Broadways, but my boyfriend, who is from NYC said "no way". My son is very well behaved, but my boyfriend suggested the Lion King instead, saying that it would probably be more engaging and interesting for my son.
If you're considering the shows here in Charlotte, I know the Lion King will be back next summer.
