Calico Corners vs. local upholstry shops for a rocker re-upholstered?

I have a wooden rocker for a baby's room that was given to me in perfect condition, except the cushion cover needs to be replaced.  Wondering if a small shop would have better prices than Calico corners...any ideas?

I've never had anything reupolstered before. Can anyone recommend someone in the White Plains/Mt Kisco area?

 Thanks so much!

  • First thing I have to ask is if it would be at all possible to do this yourself? Unfortunately most shops, especially CC will overcharge for this easy job.If it is just the seat cover, some good fabric, foam, batting and a staple gun should be all you need.

There is a place on Lexington in Mount Kisco near the post office but I can't remember the name.
