Chicago in late October

I will be traveling to Chicago in October for business 10/26-10/29. I will have some sight seeing to do the 28 and 29th (plane departs 7pm). If you could recommend some places to see and places to eat that would be recommended. I will be staying near the navy pier/Wacker/Shore Line area.

THANKS!

Re: Chicago in late October

  • Ha! My husband, sister and I are going to Illinois/Chicago to visit family that same week! :) We're planning on going to the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), Shedd Aquarium, Art Institute and Lincoln Park Zoo haha

  • You must go to Giordano's for pizza!! So so good!!  Also, if you're fans of Top Chef, the season 4 winner (Stephanie) has a restaurant called Girl and the Goat!  So good but it's definitely not near the Pier (probably about 2-3 miles  away - not too bad for a cab ride).

  • Navy Pier itself has sites to see.  You can take a boat tour, etc from there.

Shedd Aquarium and the Art Institute are close by.  Of course there's some great shopping on the Magnificient Mile (Michigan Ave.) There's also the bean (actual name is Cloud Gate) that everyone likes to take pictures of at Millenium Park.
