And what's the plan for this week?
I went shopping in Texas with a big group all day Friday and all day Saturday. Ordered baby girl's bedding--it is seriously amazing!!! I cannot wait to get it. It will take her 8 weeks to make it but she is going to send me swatches so I can make myself useful and find decor for the walls. I was able to get both kids' clothes for the cooler weather, too. Today we went to a birthday party and I cooked chicken tortilla soup for dinner. It was delish! This week I am getting my house put back together, a mani/pedi, Thursday lunch with my mom, and getting things prepared for taxes since 3rd quarter is over.

This is going to be her bedding...with a few tweaks to it.
Re: How was your weekend?
DH got home from working OOT Friday night, so I made dinner and we relaxed that night. Saturday was spent doing laundry, napping, and watching the OSU/TX game. I also made sausage/egg biscuit cups and banana chocolate chip muffins, so I'm set for breakfasts/snacks this week! Today I took G to a birthday party, then finished up laundry and made beef fajitas for dinner. I need to get DH's stuff packed for the week, boo.
No plans this week other than work, and my after school tutoring job atarts this week so we'll see how that goes. I'm planning on doing some cleaning every night once G goes to bed so that the house will be clean when the weekend gets here---G is going to MIL's Saturday (which means date night, yay!!) and I don't want to spend any of the weekend doing housework!
I had a fantastic weekend. Got some wedding stuff taken care of, slept in and then spent yesterday checking out the parade of homes, then had an awesome dinner and a movie. Today I spent shopping with a friend and now I'm watching trashy girl tv.
This week, Kevin will be finally working some decent hours so I'm pretty excited about getting to hang out with him and look at more parade of homes houses. What I'm not so excited about is cleaning my house top to bottom in preparation for visitors next weekend.
This weekend was good! Saturday we lazed around watching football as usual, and I did a lot of housework. Today, we bought me a few new pairs of scrubs since I return to work next weekend and my ass is way too big now for my old ones. I also went grocery shopping and cooked a decent meal (chicken enchiladas with a cream sauce) for the first time in a long time. We ended the night with the new season of Dexter.
This week I have a few doctor appointments, I need to get out our last few thank you notes for baby gifts, really clean the hardwoods, and visit a few girlfriends throughout the week. I didn't realize how many friends I have that are home during the day. I've become quite the social butterfly.
Weekend was quiet. Spent all Saturday morning at the Commissary battling crowds [they do a bulk sale every few months, and that was on Saturday], then Saturday afternoon/evening watching football. Had tickets to OSU/Texas but wasn't ready to interact with people, so I just watched from home. Sunday was a quiet day at home, watching football and the Ryder Cup.
Today's my first day back at work since the loss, and it'll be super busy; JJ also starts at a new daycare and has gymnastics. This week, I have an appointment with a behavioral specialist for JJ and an appointment with a therapist. I'm looking forward to the weekend; we're taking JJ to the Day Out with Thomas event at the railroad museum.
We had a good weekend. Friday night we went out with the ILs for dinner. Saturday was cleaning house, grocery shopping, and a birthday party with 7 little screaming girls (it was a princess tea party). Saturday night we just laid around and watched a movie. Sunday I woke up with a major migraine, but thank goodness for excedrin. We didn't do much that morning, but we had another birthday party that afternoon and then we had sushi for dinner. I tried to finish up my loads of laundry last night.
This week will be only a 4 day work week for me since M and I are flying down south for my nephew's birthday party Friday. Which is also my birthday! I haven't spent my birthday with my family since before I was married so I am very excited. So the rest of this week will be working, laundry, and packing.
It was a great weekend, a lot of laying around. Saturday we ran some errands but spent most of the day cashed out on the couch watching football. I had a big victory here at work so DH took me to The Metro for dinner which was fun. Sunday, more sports (Ryder Cup, anyone?) and more lying around.
I read two books last week:
The first is No Easy Day, about the Seals that took down Bin Laden. It was such a great book. I know the Marines are mad at the author for having written the book but...I think that we take our military personnel for granted and that this book is a good way for us to find out about how hard they train to fight for our freedom. It was an extraordinary book.
I also read Gone. It was also a really good book but the ending was completely screwed up. Makes me want to bang my head against the wall.
I had a great weekend!
Friday night a got my hair done (color and cut), went to dinner with C and our hair lady.
Saturday I went into town-had breakfast with my nephew and ran some errands. Got back home, took a nap and then we went to the OSU game.
Yesterday I had a Thirty-One party in Enid that turned out to be very successful-my hostess is getting tons of product for FREE. I got back home and had dinner at my parents.
My parents came to visit this weekend, so we spent much of Saturday just hanging out with them. We went and ate pho on Saturday night at Phobulous in Edmond, and it was pretty good. They had never tried pho, so it was fun to take them somewhere new. Sunday was just church, errands, and lesson planning.
This week we don't have much going on. I'll work my normal two days. We're wrapping up our work on the guest bath--we need to frame the mirror, but it will have to wait until next weekend. It still has outdated fixtures, but that's on hold for now.
We are going to hit some Parade of Homes houses hopefully Fri or Sat. Is there any house or neighborhood in particular we should definitely see? I'm not familiar with any of the neighborhoods.
Saturday I ran a few errands, bought some flowers for the garden, and we changed the filters on the a/c unit. I made a big dinner that night for my sister's birthday, and we played Cards Against Humanity and drank wine. 'Twas good fun.
Yesterday, I had a little bit of an existential crisis, but then we got lunch, groceries, and after burning myself making dinner, I tootled on up to community band where I felt much better about the world.
Rose creek is always ridiculous and awesomely ostentatious. We haven't been there yet this year, but it was cool last year.
From what we've visited so far this year, I liked Montreau the best. Iron horse ranch and twin bridges were pretty good.
Last year Williamson farms was great, but very meh this year. Centennial was also not impressive.
They have an app and Arveet and Best Buy have the guide books.
My biological father has end-stage lung cancer and has gotten to the point where he randomly falls asleep/passes out. There is a lot of drama and stress over his insistence on continuing driving and his refusal to stay with someone who can call for help in an emergency since my step-mom is in the hospital, possible for a couple of weeks. Even with her there, I had to send H over around midnight Saturday because my dad had fallen forward from sitting on the couch and was stuck head-down between the couch and coffee table.
Last night we went to Tulsa to see The Head and the Heart and had a wonderful time. It was at Cain's Ballroom, and we were on the front row literally touching the stage. We could have grabbed the violin player's ankles if we wanted to. It was an incredible, high-energy show. I think I am addicted to great live music.
Thanks, pine needles
. I LOVE getting new bedding. There's nothing better than a new look! I bet it's beautiful.
I found it at JC Penney, as a matter of fact. It's this one: http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/for-the-home/brands/royal-velvet/categories/bedding/royal-velvet-damask-stripe-comforter-set-more/prod.jump?ppId=ens6001850012&catId=cat100250063&deptId=dept20000012&dimCombo=null&dimComboVal=null
