halloween events

So it is October and I feel like the Halloween events are popping up everywhere! Just curious what any of you have done and thought was worth it-Childrens museum, zooboo(we have been members but have never gone?!). On a side note, I cannot believe it is October!

Re: halloween events

  • we just went to Reily's yesterday (with a living social deal, woohoo!) and we had a great time.  I think the off and on rain worked in our favor, as it was not crowded at all (and it only briefly rained while we were there, fortunately we were at the activities by that point & we were able to just duck into a barn where they had some games going on and waited for it to pass)

We do Zoo Boo every year...it's a lot of fun, but it gets super crowded.  We try to get there as soon as it starts and we're normally able to avoid a lot of the super crazy crowds.

    I love fall!!

Oh yeah you guys lucked out with the weather bec we didn't get like any rain but they were calling for just a plain rainy day! We went to Reillys last year when it was the freak like 85 degrees and it was PACKED! I do love all those local ones! Emmy-we went to soergels this weekend and I think you guys would love that one too-tractor rides up to the patch and lots of activities and good food!

  • We did Trax Farms over the weekend and had a nice time. Our town also has a 'luminary walk' on the Montour Trail which I think we'll probably do this year. We haven't done Zoo Boo yet, but I'd like to (it just probably won't be this year - October is filling up fast!).
  • We did Halloboo at Idelwild last year and enjoyed it. We'd go again, depending on how things work out w/ the weather and schedules. We also do a local pumpkin patch, and this year Lanna wants to go to a haunted trail they have for 4+. We'll see how that goes!

We've also taken her to a few movies that have been out that she's wanted to see (Paranorman -- which wasn't that good -- and Hotel Transylvania -- which DH saw with her and really liked).

  • There's a neat local farm out by us that does a hayride and offers a few other little things for the kids to do. It's called Yeck's; I like it because it doesn't get as busy as the other farms.

Also, Fun Fore All is having a Halloween party on Oct. 27 from 6-9pm and is $11.99/person ($2 from ea admission benefits Rowan's PTA). It includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, ballocity admission, unlimited mini golf and video games, and the balloon guy. They are also having a T-or-T trail from 6:30-8:30p (admission does not include the trail).

Here's a list of some of the area's events from 2011 (I'm sure a lot of them are repeating this year, just check out their websites): http://cranberry.patch.com/articles/day-tripper-hauntings-and-corn-mazes-for-halloween-fun

Mandy - I saw the previews for Hotel Transylvania when I took Gavin to see Ice Age 3 - OMG it looked hilarious, so I'm glad it appears to live up to my expectations!
